Wow! I'm so overwhelmed by how big and thriving this forum is! I wanted to introduce myself but will probably keep looking for awhile before I post much.

I'm a mom of 3 small children, we live on 16 acres out of town which is wild---so we're working to get it to produce. I was raised out of town with animals (mostly goats) and love being a homemaker. I especially like to bake bread and cook real foods! Looking forward to getting to know some of you.

Thank you for the warm welcome! The only animals we currently have is one dog, three cats and chickens. Unfortunately a raccoon consumed half my chickens in the last month. (sad) We don't have fencing for other larger animals but hope to have sheep, and possible goats or cows in the future. Once again, thank you for the welcome!

Oh and if you are interested in getting goats, let me know as my Potlatch friends have Oberhasli goats (they use the girls for milk and have sold the boys for meat sometimes) and depending on what they get this spring, they might have some to sell.

Hi Kayla!

Let me call my friends and make sure it is okay with them to share their contact info- I am sure it will be though! Yes they have Oberhasli goats and even have a ram out there as well. The goats are all bottle fed so they are super human-sweet and very easy to milk.

Welcome Kayla, this is new to me too but as they say, jump on in and see all that's happening. I tried to raise a couple of goats but they somehow were leading me around the property instead of the other way around. Too much for me to handle. I'll stick with the chicks. Have fun.

Welcome Kayla. Nice to see you here, I would like to have a goat but DH doesn't want one, I want a couple pigs too but haven't convinced him of that either.. give me some time.... I just might get those... I have chickens right now and would like a couple more of those too.. that is more likely to happen right now.. keep posting we are all very "farmgirly" and chatty.

Howdy Kayla, I'm also new from Idaho! Almost neighbors. Can't wait to hear what new adventures you have down there in Potlatch.

Do not worry about tomorrow, today has enough worries of it's own.
