hi i'm from maine and always lived here. What a beautiful place. I grew up on a farm when I was younger. My mom and dad taught me so..much. I just recitly lost both my parents in December. I had come across the MaryJane Magazine and just fell in Loved with it. But most of all having and meeting others that have the same likes. I love crafts/cooking/farming/garadening especial a flower garden. My husband love veg gardening. So we make a great team.
So I checked out the farmgirl.sisterhood site and thought thats just what I needed.
I have a lovely husband, four great kids. We had two of our own and we adopted two girls. We have a little farm with goats which I do a lot with. Make cheese/soap/yogurt/ice crean. And my husband races sled dogs which is my husband hobby.we are looking into raising laying hens/roosters soon.
I want to thank you all for wonderful advice you all give and looking forward to learn much more. ps. forgive me on my spelling,i'm not the greatest speller

Welcome Debra and Gail, it is good to have both of you joining in.
they are lots of topics and lots of camaraderie here, it feels like the community we all long for, thanks to Mary Jane who brought us together and keeps us here.
Debra, if you are into gardening, check out the Mavens. We do flowers and vegetable gardening with heirlooms and want to maintain old and sturdy varieties.

Welcome Ladies! With my work schedule I don't get to see my Mother and siblings as often as I would like. So, here it is like having close family near by to talk to. You both are going to love it here. I have learned so much by reading what others have posted. :)

Welcome Debra, from out back of Belfast. I've lived in Maine all my life and I don't know where Springfield is....You're going to love this forum, all kinds of interesting women and information, and it is so nice to know there are others who feel in touch with the land, the family farm and all things handmade.

Welcome to the forum! My sister lived in Maine for a few years working at a Group Home/House for kids in bad situations. They really loved it! Especially the fresh sea food!
