I would like to introduce myself. My name is Amber and I fell in love with Mary Janes Farm just two weeks ago when I bought the magazine for the Artisan Bread recipe. I couldn't believe someone had written a magazine just for me! Then once I discovered this forum, I couldn't believe there were other "farmgirls" like me! I did not grow up on a farm, but I am from farm country, my grandmother grew up on a farm, and I fantasize about living on a farm daily. I'm very glad to be here. I will probably be in the Farm Kitchen and The Stitching room most of the time.

I look forward to meeting y'all. Have a great day!
Amber

Bonjour, Amber andd welcome to the forum. It is such fun here, with so many wonderful women to share and learn from. I cannot believe you are in Norfolk....I am also from Norfolk. I live in southern France with my French hubby half the year and the other five months we spend at my home. We are flying back to Norfolk in a couple of weeks to spend spring at my place...maybe we can meet. At any rate, enjoy your new home here! Hugs, Nance

Hey Amber,
Welcome.
I used to live in Va Beach and loved that area. Great weather and friendly people.
There are some Amish farms around there, Used to one called Yoders where you could bur fantastic cheese and milk.
Worth looking for.

Oh, yes, I know the Yoder ice cream very well. :) I just joined a CSA for spring, so I hope to get to know more of the farms that way.

Nance, I would love to meet up! It snowed here today and it is 28 degrees, so you better hold off coming back until it's warmer. Which could be in two days--the weather is so up and down. You never know.

I'm having a lot of fun reading and writing posts. Take care and talk to you all soon.
Amber

Bonjour, gals! Amber, you guys are having all the luck (meaning I love to watch snow fall because it is such a RARE treat)! And snow is "poor man's fertilizer, fixing nitrogen into the soil as it melts. However, since my garden here in France is springing back to life, my head is no longer in winter mode. We are headed back to Norfolk on March 16th, so we just might be able to meet up soon! When you get a chance, send me an email, and we can work out the details. Hugs to all, Nance

Hi Amber!

I'm also an Amber, and I live just up the road in Williamsburg. We're still pretty icy up this way today; how about you guys?

Hi Amber (from Amber)! Nice to meet you! Our ice has melted today with the sunshine. I had to scrape my car window with a plastic spatula this morning! Crazy weather.

Are you a member or thinking of joining the Williamsburg chapter?

Keep warm!

I'm not a member yet. That's coming... I had no idea there was a Williamsburg chapter. This opens up so many more doors for distraction from real life! Woo hoo!
