Hi All! I'm Julie, the so-called leader of a new Farmgirl Chapter named Salvage Sisters. I'll report on our first meeting and introduce members--after our first meeting!

Disclaimer: My daughter is Annie T, Farmgirl Wannabe Extraordinaire, who has shown me that the best gift I could have given her was a needle and thread. She was my very best project ever!

I live on a sort of accidental farmlet: one half acre and a 75-year-old bungalow. Annie and I had to buy this particular house so she could keep her goats in the back yard. Then she up and married. (You get the picture--I wonder how many of you still have your kids' 4-H projects grazing in your back yards?) Most of my energies have gone into fixing up the house, but now I'm starting to plan the garden...big plans! I discuss them regularly with the three cats.

My free-range Banties and Silkie chickens are even welcome at (some of) the neighbors, because they have almost eliminated earwigs and grasshoppers in our yards. A few years ago, we even sold eggs at the Gardeners Market and made enough $$ to buy a bag of scratch on the way home. Perfect.

I belong to a small group of friends who like to re-use old building materials--hence the Salvage Sisters (and Brother Pete). I also am sewing again, after a very long time of just talking about it. I'm looking forward to sharing and learning with the rest of you.

This Farmgirl Connection is just what I need. Thank you.

Yo, Babe!

First of all, he's not 'Pete,' he's officially 'the Perfessor' on these pages. :-)

You maniac. Wait 'til I finish my barn and post the pictures therefrom (is that an official English word, o ms. ma in english?) You'll be deluged with requests for five-panel doors! Are you sure you WANT so much room in your new garage?

You rock,
Tabitha
