Greeting everyone! My name is Oney and I'm a brand new farmgirl. I'm a wife, mom, daughter, sister, & friend. I enjoy a simple life of a small home, good food, and friendships. I work part time as a waitress and full time as a housewife. My hsuband and I just celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary and are the proud parents of a daugther and two sons. Our daughter is in nursing school and our sons are both homeschooled.
I'm so excited to be a part of this Farmgirl Connnection. I just started a local chapter and named it "Tidy Aprons"--thus my user name.
Well, see ya 'round the forum! :) |

Hi and Welcome, Oney!
I enjoy the simple life too! Dh and I are currently planning on building a new "old" house. Everyone thinks were crazy, because we're keeping the square footage quite small. My idea of a dream house is not having a huge amount of unused space to clean.:)
Hope you have lots of fun getting to know everyone.:)
Happy Anniversary! Joyce |

Hi Karen, Hi Joyce Thanks for the warm welcome. Hey Joyce, I just heard on the news last night that even though our family size has declined homes in the USA have been built much bigger. I think love grows best in little houses. :D
I know I'm going to love it here.

Small homes are more cozy, My late husband and I raised 3 boys and 1 girl in a 3 BR, 1 bath farm house that is less than 1000 sq ft. I am still in it and I will be for the rest of my days.
A BIG WELCOME to you Oney.

Hi Oney,
Welcome! I homeschooled my last two,a boy and a girl. They are all grown up now with children of their own. I wish I had homeschooled all of them. I have learned the size of the house doesn't matter, its whats inside that counts. We had mostly happy lean times. |

Welcome Oney....you will sure fit in around here! I agree about the small house thing. Ours is a bedroom one bath 100+ year old house and the family before us raised 8 kids here...we have our 4 youngest at home. I have an embroidered pillow on my sofa that says "love grows best in little houses". I love that!

Welcome Oney! I had to do a search to see where Wiley was! Been down in your neck of the woods a couple of times throughout the years. It looks like you're not too far from the Sand Creek Massacre site, DH and I have always wanted to go down there (he loves driving to historical sites) but we haven't made that one yet.
Sounds like you'll find yourself right at home on the forum. I heard that all those who built the MacMansions are now downsizing to smaller homes because they can't afford the upkeep any longer. But no one wants to buy the big houses anymore so they can't sell them. Love my little 1600 sq footer! But next ones gonna be even smaller (but with land, gotta get me some land!)

Welcome Oney! My little house is a small Victorian cottage just under 1000 sq. ft and I love it. It feels like a hug every time I walk in the door. Bigger is not always better. You're going to love this forum.

Yep...it's taken me some time, but I really do love my little house.

Corinne, I do have a garden. Thank you for asking. It's a small one to be sure; but I love my little lot. I have tomatoes, carrots, spinich, cantaloupe, green beans, cucumbers (salad and pickling), radishes, zinneas, onions, sage, spearmint, rosemary and I did have thyme but the birds got to it before I could!
I really love all things homey. I love being a housewife. I love being a mom. I love tending my garden. I love my Yorkie pup Jorja. (She was given to me for my birthday this year). I love decorating our home. I love hanging laundry in the sun. I love cooking and baking. Not a nerve in me desires a career; although, I do work part time as a waitress for some "fun" money for our family.

Hey Oney! I'm new too! I love the Tidy Aprons, that is a wonderful title. :) I'm so excited to be here on this forum. It's wonderful to read all the great things that are taking place in the lives (and gardens, and kitchens, and homes) of the fantastic ladies on this site. Your home and garden sound fantastic.
