Hi, just started here today, but I've been reading the website for a couple weeks now.
I don't have a farm, but I want one.
We have 3 gardens behind our house, and I'm taking up canning this year.
Last year I did a little, Green Tomato Relish & Salsa Verde.
So far this year I've made Strawberry jam, 2 jars of green beans, and I'm in the process of making Wild Black Raspberry jelly. |

Hi Sara! Welcome to the farm! I'm not too far from you in Avon, just south of Rochester. Yah for NY Farmgals! You will find that you don't need a farm to be a Farmgirl at heart and you obviously have farmgirl blood with all your gardening and canning! That green tomato relish sounds delish. Great to have you here.

Hi Sara and welcome to the forum! I don't have a farm either and still happily call myself a farm girl. Did live on one as a girl and some days I ache to be in the country but I can get my farmin' thrills via the other farm girls here who do have one and I don't have to freeze my heiny off when its 20 below. Shame on me...grin. Welcome aboard :)

Sara, You will enjoy this blog. It has a lot of great information and is a very good sounding board when needed. I lived on a farm when I was very little but I was lucky and went back every summer and a lot of week-ends. It was so much fun a lot of work but I always loved it. Welcome!!
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

| Hi, Sara. I'm in Rochester, so we're pretty close. Those 3 gardens sound great to me. Welcome! |

Thanks for the warm welcome.
CRshelpmeet - you have mail
Well I've made my first batch of Wild black raspberry jelly, I finished at 2pm, by the time I left for work at 3pm, it was still really runny. So hopefully when I get home at midnight, it'll be set. We'll see. |
