Hi, I just found MJF and this site. I really appreciate the focus of farming, food, projects and clothing that is feminine but not 'up to here and down to there' and so tight you can't move. I have a dd 13 and ds 12 that I homeschool, I've been married almost 18 years. I grew up on a small Jersey dairy farm, we milked by hand and sold the milk in cans to an Amish cheese house. We did most of the farmwork with a Clydesdale. Now I only have one Jersey and one Jersey/Dexter cross, plus pigs, chickens, ducks, guineas, dogs and cats. I'd like horses again, and sheep to use the wool. We raise our own food with gardens and such.
I guess that's enough about me, needless to say, I'm excited to be here with a group of like minded ladies!

| Linda, your site is great! Unfortunately my computer is on it's last leg and I could only view about half of your pictures and could not post a comment. How long will your pickles keep? When I buy printer ink this weekend I'll have to get back on for some recipes. I like to can, freeze, dry or pickle (ferment) what I can. Unfortunately, this year has been very cold, breaking the records, and the gardent is slow. Plus the deer have gotten in and eaten the beans, broccoli etc. I'm hoping for good deals at the farmers markets. I also like to quilt and sew and do needle arts. All of your things were very nice. Before I got on line I sewed and unsewed a quilt I am making for my son MANY times, I decided it was time to get online. What do you use (curriculum) for homeschooling? |

Hello, and welcome to the site. If you make your own yarn with your wool, be sure to let me know! I'll buy it or barter! I love home made yarn.

I can't believe this. This is my 3rd try to get you an comment to you Cari. Thank you for coming by my blog. Some other people couldn't leave comments also for the giveaway. I will put you in. I put them in also. The computer is its own friend. I like to can also. It is good to know that you have produce up for the winter. If you were here I would share. We do Farmer's Market. We are having so much fun meeting lots of people. I like to quilt also. I am in the middle of two fabric lines right now. I am so tired of painting! I would love to see your quilt. How fun for you and your son! We use the internet and A Beka for school. Our sons used that. We use the library a lot also. We have a senior and sophomore. Can't believe it, where does the time go.
Tonight I got to go walking around our farm. Our oldest daughter brought me in flowers, so I had to go see what was growing. I took some pictures. Want to put them up tonight on the blog. It was sooooo nice out tonight. Real cool. We also picked about 50 lbs. of green beans. The kittens were all over the straw playing. \Blessings and have a good weekend. Thank you for writing back I enjoyed it so. Blessings, Linda www.prairieflowerfarm.blogspot

| Hey Cari! Welcome to the boards!!! Swing over into Chapter Chatter and check out our Farmgirls in the Mitten posts. Jessi has started a new thread for ideas for farmgirl get-togethers! If you check us out in Looking for Farmgirls in MI, there are pics from our trip to Frankenmuth for lunch. We've only done the one. -- Wow! You certainly have your hands full with all your critters and kids. There are a ton of folks here who can give advice/listen! Looking forward to hearing from you again! T |
