| Hello all! I am a new member on here and am Farmgirl Sisterhood #741. I am 21 years old and have been in college for 3 years and just dropped out last month due to the fact there are just no jobs out and about so i decided to go to school to be a Certified Nursing Assistant. I am also trying to apply into several Practical Nurse programs. I am a unique individual in the fact that I still write "snail mail" letters which I prefer to recieve a handwritten letter than an e-mail. I also do counted cross-stitch, I have hand sewn for 10 years until this summer my mom taught me to sew on a sewing machine. I also like to knit and quilt, as well as garden. I'm currently also getting involved with a farmer from Ohio as a potential boyfriend but who knows! I am just me! I do love God and I love the country life here in West Virginia living on 25 acres with my sister who's 17 and a farmgirl sister as well and my mom who is also a farmfirl sister and my dad! I am also an animal lover. |

Hi Patricia, Welcome to the Fourm! You will have so much fun here and the ladies are great!! It looks like we have a lot in common too. I love writing letters, I'm an animal lover, I love to sew, and I love god. There is a Topic here called "The lost Art of Letter Writing" where you can get penpals. Hope you have fun here!! Maggie |

Hi Patricia and welcome to the forum and the sisterhood! Practical nurse here for 32 yrs. but have finally given it up due to health issues. I hope you get in the program as there is always a need for nurses and it seems to be one of the careers that you can still make a living wage at and find work. Good luck to you and so glad you're here with us!

Thanks all! It's so nice to be greeted by all of you! maggie14 thanks for the penpal area! I collect stationary so I need help in getting rid of my 250+ blank notecards! lol! Tapestry for encouraging me in the nursing career field... I agree it seems like that's the only place with a steady job growth anymore nowadays... which is sad for other people. Well you all keep in touch! :)

| Welcome! I just joined as well, and was hoping to find some other young ladies. I'm a year older than you, and love to write letters by hand as well. I try to send out a couple postcards to my Grandma and elderly cousin every week. I just came from knitting with some other ladies today...finished a sock. May God bless your potential relationship with the young man from Ohio! |

Welcome Patricia!!!
You will sure enjoy it here. The ladies are super. How neat that you have been hand sewing for so long and finally learned on a machine. I take it you hand quilt? I am hoping to learn to sew this Fall/Winter. I took sewing in high school years ago but need to take it back up :)
I look forward to your posts :)
