Hi - I grow grapes. We harvested about 80 lbs - I made juice, started some wine and found a recipe to "capture" bread yeast off of grapes for sour dough bread. It is yummy - the recipe and a picture is on my blog.http://www.behealthyworkfromhome.com

Oh cool! Good for you. I have read about that and thought how fun it would be. I am really impressed. Wish I could try a piece. Welcome to the forum!

Hi Gloria and welcome to the forum! That is just awesome! Who'd a thunk? I bet your bread is yummy. Have you tried Mary Jane's sourdough starter? Its under the farm kitchen thread. You might like that too. My hubby calls it my "garbage bread" cause he never knows what I'll put in it. LOL It's really nice to have you here and your blog is very informative!

That is so neat! There is so much I don't knw about :) I bet the bread tastes SO MUCH BETTER than using traditional yeast.

That is cool - I have grapes that we never know what to do with besides making juice. I should try this captured yeast thing - sounds fairly easy. Thanks for sharing.

Hi my friends - I have been making this bread 2 or 3 times per week. I found a really easy way to make it. I did a blog post on it. Wish you could taste it. If you are every my way, I'll give you a start.- Gloria
