I got rain last night and the clouds looking like quilt batting. It's chilly and wet so this morning I am inside my sunroom with doga amd coffee at my side. I am so glad I have made the ritual of coming to sit a spell before getting on with the rest of my day. Catherine I will keep you in my prayers today.

I'm missing my lil friend Freddie this morn, so I drug out the family photo albums with me to the porch. I'm looking thru at all the pics of and there are sooooooo many with her on my shoulder, never noticed before, sigh.... There is one really funny one of her helping me quilt, she is very busy working on all the loose thread scraps, trying to tuck them all in, I think I will blow this pic up and frame it, and put it in my sewing/craft room. I am beginning to really enjoy telling about my life to you'll, so glad to see you'll this morn.

Catherine- we're all here to sit with you. This porch friendship is so soothing. I'll go grab myself a huge cup of coffee, then we'll chat a while. Maybe we'll chat about the loved ones we've all lost. Catherine, tell us about your sister. Oh, maybe Teresa can share another story about her sweet husband with us. Catherine, listen good, Teresa can paint a life moment with words. I'll just sit back, drink my coffee, and listen.

It is amazing to me how this virtual porch has become a place I long for. The pain meds have kept me on the couch and sleeping. It is good to be back. A cup of tea and just to sit and be on the porch...

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

Good morning ladies!

Today the world is wrapped in fog. As much as I like fog- I am dreading driving in it to work!

I fell asleep on the couch last night while the husband and I watched a movie. I was soo tired. I am hoping I can sleep in on Sunday!

It's wet here this morning. We are headed out to my friend's 20 acre farm shortly. It seems like things go along the way you expect and them they fall apart! I have realized happiness really has nothing to do with money!

It's all good!

Looks like lots of us across the porch will need lots of hot beverages and quilts to keep us warm. I hope everyone will be safe if you're driving to our porch to sit a spell.

Today is my eldest daughter's birthday. Her nickname is Blizz because she was born in 1961 during a record blizzard in upstate NY. Looks like there will be a "reinactment" of that storm today. I think I'll just snuggle in with all you ladies and celebrate with maybe a cup of hot spiced cider and some pumpkin bread.

Welcome to our new friends! This is a great gathering of ladies! I hope you find us as nurturing to your souls as I have found them to be.

Between my baby being fussy, and my hubby being sick, I haven't gotten much sleep in the last couple of weeks. I think this cozy porch sounds like the perfect place to curl up under a warm quilt and take a little nap for a spell.

I think my natural harmony is outa wack, I have been very misty eyed lately. I think having memories are a beautiful thing, even when alot of them can be very sad. Who woulda been my youngest at 19, if he had lived (he was stillborn) birthday was just recent, and then there's Valentines day, and I have sooooooo many wonderful and funny memeories of my sweet man on that holiday. then the date of my sisters , daughter's murder is comeing up soon. So if I visit you'll, don't mind me if I get abit misty eyed, when listening to all you wonderful women. Thses days I will want to eat alot of REALLY fattening and sugar loaded goodies, and yes I will share, but I may not talk much, I will be listening to my memories.

Teresa, I hear your heart. Those misty moments are precious in the midst of the saddness. Valetine's Day was the day I knew I was in live with my hubby. That was 29 years ago, yet the day is so vivid in my mind and heart. Hard to believe we would have been married 29 years this July. So many others missed, yet somehow missing them, remembering how their lives impacted mine, gives me such strength, and even a sence of joy. May I have a cup of tea?

For tomorrow and its needs I do not pray, but keep me, guide me, love me, Lord just for today.

Happy Birthday to Blizz. I hope one day Blizz will find herself a porch with such wonderful farmgirls.
I think I'll just sit besides Julia and Teresa. I want to hear more about their beloved husbands. I want to hear all about the love they had for them. I appreciate their stories. Each time I read one of their stories, I appreciate and love my sweet Hubby more. Thank you Teresa and Julia. Teresa, I've brought a huge plate of super-sugared brownies. Let's enjoy them! Julia, are you feeling better now? I do hope so. Oh! I love this porch. Just so cozzy and comfortable.

Thanks, Marly, feeling the farmgirl love here. I am feeling better. I have been able to come off the pain meds and just take Advil. I took a walk around the garden today, as the sun was out and it was so warm. I was able to pick a small, very fragrant bouquet of violets. They are so lovely. Mmm, breathe in their beauty. Glad to be here today.

I'll go for a walk around the farm. It'll be nice to feel the sun. We'll say a few prayers. Maybe when we get back to the porch someone will put some fresh coffee on.

The porch and even the sunroom are to cold to sit in today unless I bundle up like an eskimo! I am enjoying the warmth on our virtual porch.

It's all good!

Ah! Warm, spring weather today! February always seems to be such a teaser month. With a bum arm, I sat in the sunshine with a cup of tea, reading 'MaryJane's Cluck'. The sun felt so good!

Channah, there is still a bit of light, how about an eveving stroll?

You are such a wonderful young girl. Don't ever change. Michelle, I love the MJF site. This porch is so comfortable and always full of nice chatter. The wisdom found here on the porch is so heart-warming. Okay, I'm ready for a walk.
