I've been making my knit caps, working like mad. Just didn't quite know what to do with them. I had an idea but didn't know how to implement it.
Anyhoo, hubby and I have been out in the woods cutting wood for winter and we would pass this new craft mall. So, finally, I got up the nerve to go in with my caps. They loved them! I'm going to put up some shelves and have to get little price tags and then can display them. I have to think up a 'biz' name and get some cards printed on my copier. I have some other ideas to put in my little section of the shop too.
Hopefully I'll sell some of my caps but it did my heart so much good for others to applaud my caps!
YAY!!!

Winona: Wonderful news. Great for you. I love to hear when one sells ones own handwork. Keep us posted. Marly

Will do about the pictures. Yesterday I finished the neatest looking scarf. Hubby said it was uber nice, as much as he could say for a man, know what I mean??
However, a strange thing...I called the craft mall to make sure they were going to be there for me to go in and plan out my space...I got a lady who said SHE owned the place and, while she had heard of me, it's not a done deal. What the..?? She wants me to come in and 'we can work something out'... It really gave me an uncomfy feeling. I thought it was worked out. They need vendors and I need the space. What needs to be worked out?? When I mentioned about the wall space, she seemed perplexed. One of the ladies I talked to RENTS space from her, not an owner as I assumed (which may be the problem, I assumed).
So, I'm dropping back a little bit but am going to talk to the actual owner and see what 'WE' can work out.
Why do these things have to be so freakin' hard?? Everyone has such money problems that they promise what they don't have and just hope things work out?? Is that it??
Winona :-)

Congrats on the hats & the mall! Hold on to that wonderful feelin! On the "we'll work something out"....from someone who is supposed to know what they're doin, that translates into "I'm not quite sure of what I'm doing" to me from the owner. In other words, she could be stalling for time due to possible vendors leaving & not knowing what spaces are opening up,or perhaps she never thought about the wall space. Anyhow, I'm betting you caught her off guard, and she's now trying to get her chickens in a row. One thing I've learned-just because someone owns or manages a space doesn't mean they know what they're doing. So-rest assured that it has nothing to do with you. Keep that fire in your belly & come up with a biz name. What I would do then is once you're sure about the name, get some of those personalized "made by" tags you can sew into clothing,( mine says "handmade by mandolinbabe.net"and be sure the name isn't overly long so you can get a domain name and have a blog for your creations-to ensure repeat biz and give your customers a way to get a hold of you should they be wanting more of your wearable art. If you need help with where to get a domain name, just let me know & I can guide you along. You go girl!

Hmmmm, I thought I posted but maybe it was somewhere else. Anywho, I got the shelves up and the heads for the hats, and, of course, the hats. It looks GOOOOD! I have to think of a name and another lady is going to make some biz cards for me, as my big printer is out of ink and it's really expensive to refill.
I have made some more caps. I should go get the pics and post them. Let you know what I've been doing. So far, nothing has sold but it's a new mall but in a great spot, plenty of traffic going by. I think I have them priced very reasonably, kind of took a hit on price, but it's better than them just sitting here, doing nothing.
