I have made emergency cooking heaters out of them. Nice for organzing things like beads. I can't wait to see what you are going to do!

Well back in the old days of Girl Scouts we would take cardboard and cut it to the same height as the tin can and then roll it up pretty tight and put in the can and then pour melted wax usually candle stubs and let it set. The lid had a hole punched in it and a wire you would use it to control the tempeture of the flame from when you would light the tin can of wax/cardboard. Then you would need and #10 can the big ones they use in the school lunch rooms and on the bottom of one side you cut a whole wide enough for the tin can to slid in and out And on the top you would take a regular bottle opener the triangle ones and punch hole around the sides NOT the top and you could cook a meal on it we would do bacon and eggs usually. Great fun and you could cook any thing on them. I believe they weere called a HOBO cooker. Diana

..you can decorate the outside of the can... remove the lid, add a tea light candle to the inside of the can and the put a hurricane lamp over it... like a candle holder style.

We use them here for bridle holders, halter holders, hanging extension cords, rolls of rope holders, etc. They can be painted and personalized, or left plain.

I know it's the wrong time of year, but in the garden when the pumpkins, cantalope, melons start to ripen, dh puts a tuna can under each one to keep the melon from touching the ground, so it won't rot! Otherwise I was going to say a pinkeep too! :)

I use mine as ashtrays when smoking friends come over. They have to smoke outside and toss the tin in the garbage when they are done. I hate the smell of an ashtray. I am surprised at how many good ideas there are above this post. But then this is the farmgirls so I shouldn't be.
Hope all your days are Sunnydays. dianebcarterhotmailcom.blogspot.com |

I have made pinkeeps. I have also made recipe card holders. You use plaster of paris and a fork. You hide the plaster with some cool junk and hide the can under fabric or lace. You put the recipe card into the tines of the fork which sticks up. |

My Mom always took the lid off and used the can to cut out her homemade yeast buns. Oh they were good and the size was perfect for sandwiches....yum!!!

Very cute!
I use tuna cans as muffin tins to make homemade English muffins. I think we could write a book on 1001 ways to reuse a tuna can!
Ingenious.
