I was at Lowes today,and what did I spy in the "last chance plant rack"? Two beautiful Gloxinias,one purple/white & one pink/white. Want to turn them into houseplants. ALso picked up a lavender mini- rose...

I have already killed on and I am working on #2 My mom had one all the time I was growing up and I loved them so Silly me thought I can grow Africian Violets shouldn't be much different But Noooooooooooooo I don't have the Gloxinias touch.

Have you looked up growing tips for them online? I found they're a "sister" to the african violet-btw they do die back-you have to take the tuber out of the pot with some soil and let it rest in a ziploc bag-keep an eye on it & when it starts to sprout re plant. do not put the tuber in the fridge tho.....

I would toss mine after they finished blooming. They are quite beautiful though.
