                      | Congratulations DEBBIE !!!! Posts are like potato chips, you can't do just one !
We would love to have you along for the entire trip or just part of it.

We are still looking for farmgirls who would like to host a farmgirl stayover.

Some farmgirls are bringing their vintage glampers, some will be staying in tents, others will be in hotels/ motels and B&B's. Farmgirls are welcome for the day, too.

We will be posting on the blog everyday so farmgirls can be with us on the trail.

Keep in touch Debbie. Would like to hear your plans, ideas and concerns for the trip.

Welcome to Mary Janes Farm. It is addictive!

                      | Hey Ladies! I just had an idea! What if we brought quilt squares to swap so when we got home we could put together a quilt from all the friends we met along the way!? It seems to fit the theme of the adventure! What do ya say!?

                      | I like the idea. Set a size limit, even a color theme if you like. Hmmm I think I might be able to do this one. How many do you think we should make and bring with us?? It would be a great memory quilt. I think I will use dog fabric..I am a dog person.

 Great idea!

                      | Hi April.
I was going to leave it up to everyone. There will be campground info for each location. Motel and B& B info , too.

I have a reservation already made for Plum Creek County Park in Walnut Grove, MN. I am lot number 50 with electric only. It is $25 per night, two night minimum , pre-paid.

With my confirmation is a price list and campground rules. Very nice. Tents -$20, water and elec $27.50.

There is a walking tour "When the Prairie Whispers" highlighting 23 tree varieties. Booklets availabel at the museum.
This would be part of a badge , too.

There are farmgirls joining for the day or a few days, so they can make reservations where they like.

How about you April? What do you think?

                      | That was the campground I was thinking about in Walnut Grove too. Are the electric hook-ups in a different section than those without?

                      | Hi April,
They sent me a map of the campground.
I am a bit far from the shower house.. oh my.
If I dont have a camper by then I will be staying in my van. Which I love to do. It is fun when I travel with my dogs , too.

Not sure if there is a map online .

There is a map online of the Pulpit Rock Campground in Decorah.
I copied it to keep with my files.

I posted more info yeterday on the blog site.

                      | The blog site has now been updated with all stops listed. Check "older posts" at the bottom of the last post for addtional blogs.

If help is needed with travel plans or arrangements, please contact me at anytime.

May 1st is a deadline to report totals to the museums. This allows time to get extra help at each site.

Farmgirls of the Heartland will be hosting dinner/" meet & greet" for the tour when in Kansas City.
Other groups may host dinner/ "meet & greet" any where along the trail.

Just a reminder to start making charms for the swap.

                      | ~QUILT BLOCKS~ To swap with other farmgirls on the tour!

Size: 5 1/2" squares (You can make 48 from 1 1/4 yard of 42" material)

Color: Your choice, something that represents you!

Amount: TBD~once the headcount is in!

Embellishment: You don't have to do this, but you can embroider your name on your squares so our farmgirl friends will remember who's square is who's!

Design: You can swap plain squares or if you want to get super fancy, you can do a nine-patch like Laura and Mary did for their quilt or another design of your choice! Totally optional!

Result: A potential blanket of farmgirl friendship that you can wrap yourself in and remember the awesome Laura Ingalls Wilder Prairie Pilgrimage.

                      | Wende, do you know the dates for certain on the Ks/Mo sites yet? Maybe the Mo/Ks chapter can work something out to come, even some just join for the day. I want to do this sooo badly, but I may be in Calif in June. Not certain yet. But would love to help coordinate something for the new chapter!! I will email you. Thanks, Linda
