Hi, I've made lots of aprons and a book I really love with patterns included is called; A is for Apron by Natalie Mornu. The patterns need to blown up, it costs about $5. at Kinkos. Another cute little book I bought at a quilt shop Called: Chicken Linen: Feedsack Facts and Projects by Darlene Zimmerman

Oh my gracious! Ya'll are making me drool. I have only tinkered with sewing. My craft room has been converted into my step daughters bedroom. Ughhh, I want my craftroom back. Shoot I can move some of the kids to share rooms. Who says everyone needs their own, right?
Kyria, that is so creative and a great way to keep favorites around for a long time. Your daughter might be interested in PenPals for FarmKids. Swing by and check it out

Kyria - welcome and thanks for sharing your idea. Great way to extend the life of your kids favorite clothes! And I love the vintage vogue pattern!!! I think I was born a few decades late. But oh well, I'm "mature" enough now to relish being me - vintage styles and all. Good luck with the kraft room, Kayce! It's raining/sleeting today and usually gray days make me blue but you are the most inspiring bunch of ladies I've ever "met". My material is out and hopefully by day's end I'll have at least 2 new aprons. Happy sewing!

Thank you, ladies, for the compliments! It really wasn't that hard, although I did have to turn the pattern this way and that and go across seams sometimes. I thought it might be difficult but it wasn't! |

Aprons are my passion nowadays. Just can't quit making them. This one was inspired by a vintage appliqued/embroidered tablecloth that I cut apart for several projects ... the latest to make the bib for this St. Patrick's Day special apron. Lots o' the green and lot o' the lace on the pocket and hemline. Made from a pattern with a few alterations to make it my own.

bobbinrobin . . . love that apron!!! I make aprons . . . lots of them and sell them at Farmers Market and craft bazaars. Right now, low inventory, but gotta get going for the next market season which is June-Sept. Spent time going through fabric, re-organizing and planning. Soon I will be cutting and getting them ready to sew. CJ

Sales must be better at Farmers' Markets than they are on etsy. Wish I could find a lucrative market for my aprons as I love, love, love making them. Get sewin' and think Spring. Best, Sharon

I love the St. Patricks Day apron.
Sharon, the teenage girls will have their own rooms but I am moving the young boys together. They always are in one room anyway and they are looking forward to it.
Wow, I scored alot of fabric today. My mom was going thru her shed and she was going to throw it away So i snatched it up. LOL, she goes thru these spells of purging and doesnt care, she just wants to throw everything away. Good for me

OK. Sharon. My mom sold my late granny's house. My mom said they closed today and those things that I wanted out of the shed I better get today. "Ugh, I was just there yesterday with you helping you get a bunch of stuff. Argh why didnt you say anything." Anyway I go over and find some collectables, stuff she made, stuff she didnt finish and drum roll please.........a metal box taped up.....the missing journals of my granny's..hmmmm

Linda, I made the full apron from that pattern for a special Christmas order for a friend. She wanted sunflower fabric, which I had, and even had a contrast fabric with sunflowers for the bias tape that you make for that style. It was alot of work but I loved the results and the person I made it for liked it so much she said she might just keep it for herself. I have over 30 apron patterns and some are vintage. Aprons are just so much fun!

I'd love to have that Vogue pattern...but I'd have to take out all the gathers because I'm wide enough in the middle... :=) I would just make it more streamlined from the waist down. Thanks for the tip on the sale at Joannes!
