Here in MN it's a long time till outdoor gardening is going to happen, but I NEED green and blooms! My poor houseplants have been a bit neglected, but they are trying to cheer me up with color. Today I have fuschia Christmas Cactus that didn't make it for Christmas, fuschia Impatiens, one salmon and one red geranium.
What is blooming in or around your home?

It's in the dead of winter here in Washington State. I'm of a mind to start my winter sowing. It is so much fun. I have a cold frame that I sit on my concrete deck. The sun warms the concrete and heats the soil so the plants will germinate. It's time to start with all the veggies that you buy at the store (plants I mean) and I will eagerly await them poking their little heads from the soil.

My Christmas cactus is blooming freely as long as I keep it watered. The sweet potato vine that I rescued from outside before the frost is growing well. That's about all the color I have in the house right now.

My only bit of brightness at this time of year is my winter jasmine. It is in our front yard and it is blooming like crazy - all bright yellow blooms. It always starts just before Christmas and goes through January - but usually we have snow or ice and the blooms get a bit frozen and fall off, so many times it is not covered in blooms like this year. It has been fairly mild and just wet for the last several weeks, which it doesn't seem to mind. I should take a photo and post.
