Since the fire I have been wanting to dabble in different types of jewelry making. I have watched some of the tutorials for wire wrapping. Do any of you make wire wrapped jewelry, what gauge wire do you like? What other types of jewelry do you enjoy making? Just wanting some new ideas... Thanks for your input! Blessings,Karen

18 gauge wire works for me but watch out for the sharp points when you cut it. I take a small emery board for finger nails and file the points. It's fun and doesn't take a lot of time. Creativity can go wild.
Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do! |

Hi Karen I have wanted to work with wire but I don't think I can do it. My question is though, where is Meansville GA? I live in Cedartown, GA.

I am about 1hr south of Atlanta and 1hr north of Macon. Cedartown is in the north part of Ga right? I was up that way this past weekend. My Aunt lives about 2miles from the Ga line in Menton Al. I bet you could do the wire work Donna, it seems to be easy. There are lots of tutorials on you tube, you might want to check them out. Blessings,Karen

hi Karen and Donna .. i do a ton of wire wraps... any and all wire sizes and types i use . I even save wire from old theme books of paper . Your hardware store will have copper wire about the cheapest to use in the 18 to 20 guaage. I get alot off ebay too. It is one of those crafts that you just have to sit down and play with it. It relieves alot of stress for me too

Holy Moley Peg! That's GORGEOUS!! Karen, have you googled Eni Oken? She's a fabulous wire wrapper. I watched several of her tutorials and learned a bit, although not enough to be as good as her!

What an incredible bracelet, Peg! Wow! I love the wire wrapped bracelets. I've been gathering stuff to start making jewelry. There are a couple really good magazines out, too I think one is called, "Wired" by Interweave Press.
Thanks for sharing....I'm feeling inspired!
