My first child a daughter is named Naomi Michelle..Naomi meaning "pleasant one" and the Michelle after my middle name.born 4/2/91

then nine years later I had a little boy after dr's basically were telling me I wouldn't be able to have any more..blah, blah, blah..
anyhow fooled them huh? LOL (actually I didn't even know I was pregnant until I was 5 months along and the doc said..not only are you pregnant, but you are 5 months along and none of your friends are going to believe you are so far along and didn't know it..you better hurry up on getting that nursery ready!)LOL it was so odd having babies 9 yrs apart...
anyhow..I named him Paul Ian..Paul after his dad and because we have scottish and Irish backgrounds we both liked the name Ian..together the names mean "little one God is gracious" and we felt that certainly we had been God had been gracuious and blessed us with yet another child.
We call him Ian though because there are 3 Paul's in the family..(my husband and my father in law and now my son, then one of my husbands friends from school is named Paul..my mom in law and I had fun one day when all 4 paul's were at her house..we hollered "Paul" ..and then started giggling when they all said "huh?")
paul Ian is my leap year baby..born 2/29/00

then I have our latest addition to the family Hannah Emmalynn who was born 2 weeks before my beloved grandmother died..I was going to name her Emmalina on the middle name after me(Tina), my sister Emily and the middle name of my sister Sharon Kathleen..but decided I liked the sound of Emmalynn better....and had always wanted a daughter named Hannah..so Hannah Emmalynn which all together translates to :"God's grace embracing all things beautiful" 7/25/04

So, there you have it..the names of my clan.

I have 4 children

Daughter 1 - Victoria Fawn. My mother chose Victoria after queen Victoria(Vikki as we call her) and Fawn is a long standing family name. Of course my name is Fawn Leann, My grandmother is Fawn Muaella, My great grandmother is Fawn Grace and My great great grandmother is Fawn Garrett.

Son 1 - Oliver Jason. Named after Oliver Cromwell, a British military commander of the 17th century who ruled the country after the civil war and Jason meaning "to heal"

Son 2 - Alexander Scott. My mother wanted him to be Alexander Ryan and My dad wanted him to Anthony Scott...so I chose a name from each. They picked Alexander for Alexander the Great, King of Macedon, he is the most famous bearer of this name. In the 4th century BC he built a huge empire out of Greece, Egypt, Persia, and parts of India. This was also the name of emperors of Russia, kings of Scotland and Yugoslavia, and eight popes and Scott is From a surname which meant "Scotsman" in Old English.

Daughter 2 - Elizabeth Danielle. Elizabeth meaning "my God is an oath" but after John the Babtist's mother. and Danielle meaning "God is my judge"

I loved learning about all of the names of the children.

I have 2 girls, the first one is Kaylee Renee named after my Mother Brenda Kay my Grandpa Joe Lee and my Monther in Law Coleen Renee. The second one is Halsey Jo who is named after my husband halleck and myself Bobbi Jo.

Both my family and Hals have traditions about namesakes and things so we went along those lines as well.

Hey gals, Kate here...Kate Talley. For some reason I couldn't log on, so I had to create a new "identity" Katiedid was my childhood nickname, so there's no confusion, we are one and the same... I too love to hear the stories of everyones names.

My favorite name ever was "Ripley Tangerine" that was the name a friend of mine from high school named his little girl. Very unique and yet doesn't sound totally out there either.

Nathanael Luke is our latest name choice for children (he's 1 week old today)
"Nathanael" - gift of God
"Luke" - light

we liked Samuel Owen, but our last name starts with a 'b' so we didn't want S.O.B. for initials--LOL!

then we found Nathanael and we already liked the name Luke, it just kind of went together.

and weirdly enough, all of our children have an 'l' in every name--which just kind of happened. no one will notice but us of course.
Joel William
Caitlyn Elise
Elia Noelle (we chose Elia because we liked the name Elijah, but she was a girl, not a boy so we chose the feminine form of Elijah which is the mirror image of the name Joel in Hebrew--lots of people use Joel and Elijah for twin names)
Nathanael Luke

I thought I replied to this one before, but I didn't see a post from me in the mix! So...(you probably all know this already!)...baby is Jackson Thomas, born on January 25th of this year. "Jackson" is my husband's grandpa (deceased, not the "real" grandpa but the one that they all knew as grandpa since the "real" one passed away when DH's father was just a boy...) and "Thomas" is for my pop.

Most people call him "Jack" and I thought I would too, but I mainly just call him "Jackson." I love the name! And I love my boy!!!

My Daughter is Melissa Rose. Melissa because my husband likes the Allman Brother's song, "Sweet Melissa". Rose after the Clan Rose of Scotland that my husband's family belongs to. I just liked the way it sounded, as beautiful as she is.

My son is Andrew James. Andrew after the Scottish saint and James after my father, although my husband insists that it had something to do with a Jimmy Buffett song. I let him think so...Anything to keep the peace.

Both kids have many nicknames, but when together they are often referred to as "AJ & The Missers".
