“Some give gifts or money, but those who truly love give of themselves.”
I found this website last night while searching desperately for the Anne of Green Gables biscuit recipe -- but didn't find the recipe. It seems that I have landed in a new land, complete with a new language. Since I'm already immersed in learning conversational Hebrew, another new language might be a bit overwhelming, but I'm game to try. I'm a Pastor's wife, nearing 70, overworked and underpaid, but never undervalued! Life might be better, but I'm not sure how. I'm looking forward to exploring this site further and hopefully not making too big a fool of myself in the process.

Claudette, Not to worry I'm always confused. This might help you with the biscuit thing. Go On google- type in Anne of Green Gables Biscuit Recipe. Lots of recipes there. I saw a soda biscuit and a tea biscuit and I was only there a minute. Nancy Jo

Welcome Claudette. Glad to have you. We make fools of ourselves all the time. We're always being silly. You'll find that out as you cruise this site. We just laugh at each other. These gals are all very helpful...just ask.A great bunch!

Welcome Claudette from Southeast Texas. This is a great site and a lot of us are confused. You will get less confused as you go along and don't be afraid to jump right in and ask questions. If we don't know that answer we will be confused with you until someone knows the answer.

Hi, I am very new too. I was thinking as I read your post, that we all have so much in common. I love Anne of Green Gables. I adopted the phrase "kindred spirits" from her books. My truly close friends are kindred spirits. I think that if we could ever have a Farmgirl roundup there would be kindred spirits everywhere. (: Dawn

I found an Anne of Green Gable biscuit recipe at www.tickledorange.com
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
3 cups flour 1/2 cups butter 1 tablespoon cream of tartar 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon salt 1 1/3 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 1 egg yolh, beaten
1. mix flour & dry ingredients. 2. mix in butter 3. add milk & vanilla 4. mix with fork til dough pulls away from bowl. 5. place on floured board & roll 1 inch thick 6. slice into 16-24 biscuits 7. place on ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart 8. brush beaten egg yolk on top of biscuits 9. bake 20-30 minutes or til golden brown.
Hope this is what you were looking for! Sounds yummy!
