This week my DH and I discovered two sweet banana peppers growing on a couple of the plants! We are SOOO excited! It's our first garden and of course, we watch it A LOT...and like the saying goes "a watched pot never boils"! Well our pot is startin' to boil!!!

I am so jealous! We barely have 2 inch starts and sprouts. Indiana is still frosting and cold this time of year. :(

We had collard greens, romaine lettuce, small radishes(because of thinning), and swiss chard out of the garden for lunch, tons of little tomatoes, on the plants, i have 48 tomatoe plants.
This is my 3rd garden and it is the largest. I also, have green beans, sweet peas, strawberries,red and white onions, red and green cabbage, egg plants, purple hull peas, christmas pole bens,and 3 kinds of cabbage, red,yellow, and green peppers, as well as jalapenos, and banana peppers. carrots,garlic, corn, I have been working on redoing my chicken yard today, with my 2 granddaughter (twins) and getting ready for my chickens. Awesome Robin!!! Oh I have a wonderful recipe for Banana Pepper Mustard if you're interested. It's a sweet-hot mustard perfect for soft pretzels :)

We planted the sweet banana peppers (which by the way Sharon, I would love to try that recipe), bell peppers, cantalope (not sure how that's turning out), cherry tomatoes, red sails lettuce, romaine(not doing great), green onions, crook neck squash, and cucumber seeds(that didn't happen). We lost some zucchini, tomatoes, spinach. Yesterday we picked up and planted jalapenos, steak tomatoes, and a cucumber plant. See how all that goes! We will probably have plenty of salsa around here!!! I also got some pretty little flowers for my flower pots! Oh and we have two volunteer green onions and a garlic from the compost that we tilled into the dirt!

I have loads of dill that has sprouted from that which grew last year. I wish I knew some other gardeners that would like to have some of the starts, because I'm going to have to till some of them under to plant my crop. Oh, and I'm still waiting for the volunteer tomatoes to come up that usually are abundant.

Congratulation, can't wait to see my first vegetable!! It's going to be a great summer. I have all the herbs planted but waiting another week to plant the vegetables. This year is my first organic garden and am sooo excited:)

The garden is just looking more wonderful everyday! We have also been trying to grow grass in the back for the past 6 years. This year is probably the most aggressive we've gotten with it and we are seeing the fruits of our labor with that! We both just wanna be able to walk in the backyard in our bare feet and not fight nasty stickery weeds!

I'm back! School's out! Our garden sure is growing! We have already eaten plenty of lettuce from it. The tomatoes are almost ready for picking. The jalapenos are poppin and we not sure about the sweet banana peppers. They're awful small and we're not sure if they did so well! Scallions are great! And we have a couple crook neck squashes growing! Very exciting!

Robin,
I grew banana peppers last year and there were A TON of them but the biggest ones were only about 2 to 2-1/2 inches long. I'm looking forward to my peppers getting going, I just got them transplanted into the garden this past week.

This isn't our first garden, but it never fails to excite me. We've been eating lettuce (mescalun mix), but it's getting too hot not to keep it around, spinach, beets, English peas (my little one, Violet's favorite snack, right out of the pod!), green onions, ample herbs. The peppers (banana, poblano, jalapeno) are flowering and fruiting, as are the tomatoes. Can't wait for the tomatoes--last year was such a flop! We planted pumpkins and sunflowers over the weekend, and will plant green beans tomorrow night. Seems to be a good year so far, but then, it's only June!!!

It is very exciting to see your garden come to life. We get excited every year. We have had some sweet banana peppers and squash so far. Sharon, I sure would love the mustard recipe too, it sounds great.
