She is trying to drive me right up a wall..let me tell ya!! No calf yet! She seems very very relaxed about the whole thing. The little Heifer!!! Guess I will just keep waiting.
Oh Jenny - not YET???? I'm sending "calving" vibes today - it's a beautiful day, however, and all of my animals seem to wait until it's stormy (baromentric pressure or just a desire to be contrary?)! I'm betting on the weekend - I'll bet it's a little girl, too -- just wanting to stay close to her mama....just a little bit longer....
She doesn't look any closer today. I had someone ask if I were sure she was pregnant. Yep...she can't be that wide otherwise! AND I have seen the calf moving around in there...very cool. BUT...no calf today it looks like. I think Libbie may be right about the weekend...very likely..and it would be more convenient for sure. I hope she is right about it being a girl too!!! For those of you who don't know...Libbie lives about an hour south of me and has Mona's first daughter Evelyn for her own milk cow!!! I can't imagine a better home for a daughter of Mona!
No She hasn't!! Still waiting. She seems in no hurry at all. She is over 3 weeks late now. I plan to call a vet if she hasn't calved by Weds. She seems healthy and fine...just not having the calf. I am seriously thinking maybe she isn't pregnant after all..although she is SO big..I hope that isn't the case! One way or the other I will know for sure what is goin on hopefully by Weds night. sigh. I am glad she is happy...she isn't stressed out by this at all..only me. She hasn't been this late before. Since she was bred AI I am sure about her due date. At least we have good weather right now.
