Hi, all! It is nice to be part of such a great group! I was invited by Marjean and I am so glad she did.
I live, like my topic title says, in south Alabama. No, this is not the Alabama you hear about on TV. We are right on the Gulf Coast and right on Mobile Bay in a town called Fairhope. I lived in town for AGES, but we moved out to the country three years ago. It is SOOO much quieter out here! LOL Nice! I don't live on a farm, but I do have the farmgirl spirit!
I have three children. Well, my daughter, Danielle, would complain if she heard me call her a child. She is 20.  She HAS to be called an adult now, you know?  I also have two boys, 10 and 15. Danielle is my partner on our Etsy shop. She makes most of the jewelry and I do all of the sewing.

Sending you a warm welcome from Missouri! Tell your daugther for me I am 53 and I never want to be called an adult! lol I still love playing outside and getting dirty (the best part of being a Farmgirl !), so enjoy her young life and never, ever grow up!

Welcome Janna from Sunny Florida! You and your daughter do just like me and my daughter. I sew and she makes the jewelry and we both have an etsy shop. She will be 20 in Nov. My one and only beautiful daughter. She looks just like her Daddy, which I love, but he and she wished she'd had the red hair and blue eyes like me. But, being he is Spanish there was no way that way gonna happen.lol

Hello! I have passed near your lovely town several times on my way down to the beach in Alabama. I just love that whole area! Sadly we probably won't get there this summer due to my parents health and our finances (they and my hubby and I all go together to Gulf Shores) but I hope we can go one day soon
Eat some boiled peanuts for me! When we go I always stop at Burris' Market (in Foley, I think) and get me a big bag full to bring home and boil.Yumm... I love some right now!

Thanks so much for the warm welcome! It's sad to say, though, but the beautiful beaches are supposed to get that nasty oil in the next 48 hours. How dreadful!! I can't even imagine what would happen if we had a hurricane any time soon.  Just my scary thoughts...

Hello, ladies!
The magazine I found in Hancock Fabrics where I worked until I retired about 6 weeks ago, brought a new and exciting facit to my life. I wish there was a new magazine every week!!
I am a grandmother of 2(boys)with a new one(?), on the way. I have 3 children all married and each one with one child. I sew, paint, teach a Bible class, watch after my husband's and my parents. All four in their 80's. I am from central Alabama, halfway between Birmingham and Montgomery. I taught piano for about 25 years, got burned out and quit. I am married some 20
years now, for the second time. I lived the first 20 years at home, my second 20 years in Dothan, AL and the 3rd 20 years back home.
We sort of have a collective farm around here. There are four families on this place and we have chickens, goats, cattle, and gardens growing all around. I waited too late about quiting work to plant like I wanted. So, I've set about to grow me all the new soil I can before next Spring. I need all the help I can get on growing organic, which is what I want to do.
I am hoping to earn lots of badges and do many good things with my time now. One of the first things I want to do is learn to tatt. They tell me my great-grandmother was an expert, I hope she left me some good genes. I can crochet, but I don't like to.
