My plants are plagued by cucumber beetles every year. Is there a natural way to take care of them. I'd rather not use a pesticide. They consume my plants!

good morning melanie, welcome to farmgirl. have you hears of gardens alive. they have a web site. they carry from organic to natural remedies and fertilizers. you can use a natural predator or a spray for them. hope this helps happy days sherrye
Here's one that might work - take: 2-3 cloves of garlic, minced 2 tbsp hot pepper flakes 1 cup boiling water Put these in a 1 quart mason jar and screw on the lid, setting aside for 24 hours. Then, strain the liquid using a piece of cheesecloth. Return liquid to jar, add 2 tbsp dish soap and enough water to make up 1 quart. Pour insecticide product into an empty spray bottle ($1 at Dollar Stores!) and use this to spray cucumber beetles and plants where you've seen them. Supposed to have good residual effects too.
