yes we use DE. fossil shells there are sharp and cut the wig. very safe happy days sherrye

Marly, they're nasty insects with longish brown skinny bodies and sharp pincers on the ends. Gives me the shivers. Yes, diatomaceous earth is the way to go! It's a good organic method & okay for use around kids & pets.

Get rid of wood around the house. If you have to stack wood, put it away from the house. They like dark areas. They love anything wood and moist.
The sting from this insect is so very painful. Your hand and arm or foot and leg will go numb. You can get a staph infection very easy from it. The pain and numbness will last for hours. Nasty

OH how I hate those litle buggers!!! My chickens on the other hand love to eat them! this time of year when I open the doo to the pen the fall out onto the ground and the chickens go nuts for them!Gross! Good luck- sounds like DE is the way to go! Smiles, Laurie Farmgirl Sister#1403

The other way to get rid of them is to fill tuna cans with cooking oil a 1/4 inch from the top. Set these out overnight [that's when the things come out and eat all the starter plants. The next morning you have to empty the tuna cans of the dead bug bodies. Smiles! Carla
