Channah,
Hop over to the floods topic-I have a picture of mine there. I am hoping that I dom't lose everything to this flooding. I have been digging potatoes & onions all week & processing them. And eating them!!!

A mental picture.... Things in my garden are barely surviving. definetely not flourishing... except the green peas. Those seem to be weathering the weather pretty well! But I keep trying. That, along with nightly slug hunting expeditions! At least there are less holes in all the leaves and a few broccoli plants not eaten to the nubs. =)

Do what you love, love what you do.

Our garden is having some troubles from all of the rain, but the broccoli, brussel sprouts and potatoes are happy!

Lara, that is pretty. SO nice and neat. Mine is a jungle already. I let my cow and goats in the big garden just to eat all the weeds down. And they get all the veggies too. But I want the weeds gone! I think next year I will have to downsize to something like yours. That way it will be pretty and more managable for me. I like that bed in the back, too.

I love this conversation thread and I'm looking forward to seeing everyone's photos. Lara, I can't have a lawn here...and seeing your yard brings back fond memories of running barefoot on the grass. Your garden is so very tidy. Amy, your place looks so serene and I really like your branch fences!

My new blog post is scheduled to go up in the next day or so and there are several pics of my little oasis.

These gardens look so cute!

Kristin, Im coming over to your house next spring to help you paper mulch your garden up so you dont have to weed. I NEVER weed. I hate it. My grandma had an acre garden and the grandkids had to weed....never again! :)

Yeah! Some help! I sure need it. Come when you can, Sarah. I'd be glad to have you. I am going to start stocking up on leaves this fall to put all over the garden to smother all the weeds and grass. And I will also start saving newspapers and bags.

Diane, your garden looks so healthy and beautiful! What are those big tall plants on the right?

Here is my garden at the moment. I hope to have a bigger one next year, but this is a good start for us this year!

Ok, here is a collage of my little oasis on the prairie. It is so small compared to what I grew up with - this locale won't allow for such a thing. So, I just have my favorite 'must haves'...tomatoes, carrots, beets, lots of lettuce, herbs, summer squash and cukes. My new blog was posted today, so if you wish to see more, you can click back to the main MJF COnnection page and then click on the oldtimey cowgirl icon...or on the link below. I so envy the lushness of some of the places ya'all get to garden. I guess the upside is that my little mini-me garden has sun from the time it comes up until it falls off the edge of the western hills.
