teresa, maybe there is a dog that needs your grandson. we took our first yorkie because they were going to kill her. she was the runt. she fit right in papas palm without fingers. she chose us at the puppy place. we could not say no. we knew it was going to be difficult. itty bitty had 6 great years with me. when i would start to have an attack that yorkie knew before me. he would not leave me. i would be so sick and ambulance come and he would be on my chest till they had my lines in and going out door. i soooo hope they will be able to open their heart to a new puppy. you may have to go through some shopping. papa and i would not trade a minute with that dog. it finally was put down due to nerve issues, a too small trachea, and 2 kneecaps that blew out. we miss her still. a year later i knew i needed a dog. i was so lonely when papa would go. i posted on craigs. we were blessed with itty bitty two. he is smart as a whip. he is always happy dedicated to me. knows when i am sick. comforts me with love. ginger my goat is intuitive and knows before me when i am getting sick.i know that kids with autism are extremely special needs. it is a huge job your kids have. they will know what is best. just as you do too. we are not there. i was just thinking when itty died i thought i could never get over it. i thought where would be another one sooo special. i hope you all just stay open to opportunity to have another. who knows really. one may be at the park waiting now. things do happen in life that can help turn this into a little something desperately better than it is now. so how is he doing after these days without him. does he understand what happened? i still can not believe this could happen.WHAT kind of dog was it? jusr wondering. i am prating for you to have strength and peace for all of you. so very sincerely sherrye and papa

I believe that God will send him another special dog. I really do. I'm so sorry to hear about that.

Sherry, Webbles was a rat terrier mix, as far as we could guess, she was about 5 weeks old when she adopted Roger. And when and if the right dog comes along again, hell yes, he or she will be coming home with Roger. And no, Roger does not understand what happened, and never will, but he does keep calling for his Webbles, and is understandable upset when she is not there curled up in his lap. My D-in-law will keep every possibility open for Roger, and all we can do is pray that another 4 legged angel with invisible wings, appears...

Still praying for you and your family. I hope the authorities find the dog's owner and justice is served. People like that shouldn't be allowed to have pets of any kind.

Teresa, I so agree with that! The more heartbreaking situations I hear, I'm thinking that only a chosen few should be allowed to have the blessings of a pet.

Teresa:
I am still praying for Roger. Know that his sad story will not be forgotten. Keep us posted. We will all celebrate if an angel puppy finds him again.
Hugs to Roger.
