cataracts? I have one that seems to have white spots on both eyes and she really has trouble seeing. I am concerned she is not getting enough food and water. Is there anything I can do? Blessings,Karen

I have never heard of chickens with cataracts, but I have seen parrots with them, so I am sure its possible. Like with anyone that is blind, their other senses are increased, make sure she knows where the food and water are, and don't ever move them, make sure she is not being picked on, and that she does not have other health problems, Good luck...

I am sure that anything with eyes (well, most things anyway) can develop cataracts. Parrots certainly do, so it wouldn't be surprising for a chicken to develop them, though I wonder why, unless she is pretty old.

Teresa and Amanda, I have her in a pen by herself I was really scared to put her in the big pen with the rest of my girls because a couple of the are a little to sassy! I go out and sit with her every afternoon and make sure she is eating and drinking she must be pretty old is all I can figure but she is a sweetie. She doesnt seem to have any other health problems thank goodness. Thanks girls for your input. Blessings,Karen
