Ground squirrels are our biggest garden pests this year. They are eating EVERYTHING. Melons, cucumbers, tomatoes, berries...
We have the most beautiful melons this year, but they are eating them right before they are ready to harvest.
Any ideas on ways to keep them out?

One thing I read years ago that has helped me with the squirrels is to keep small pans, like pie pans, around the garden, filled with water. The squirrels eat juicy fruits and veggies because they are thristy. This made a huge difference for me. When I water I rinse out the pans so I do not get mosquito larve. Good luck.

Make a hot pepper spray and mist everything around your fruits and veggys, the plants and vines, their noses and taste buds are too sensitive for hot pepper juice, hehehehehe...
