Hello, ladies! I am so excited about this site. I work with a woman who is a farm wife and she turned me on to Mary Jane's Farm mag. A few pages in I was hooked and the rest is history.
I'm 48 years young and married to a usually wonderful guy. Between us we have 6 kidlets - with one still 'nesting' with us who is going to college.
We live on nearly 2 acres and are surrounded by corn and bean fields. Our house is your typical farmhouse built in 1900 (thanks to the www for this info.) and we think it might be haunted. We're not daunted by this in the least and call 'him' Clyde. We have a leaning barn (held up by guy [sp.] wires that has no electricity (had at one time, of course) and several small outbuildings.
There are four lucky cats who are strictly indoors, and a Momma cat and two almost grown kitties who are our resident barn cats. Because we live on a busy state route, it's only a matter of time before we bring them 'cause we worry about them. Of course, the first time the snow flies and they're peering into the door at us with those "it's soooooo cold our here" eyes........that'll be all it takes. DH has already resigned himself to this.
Was raised in rural (Ohio, also) country and after 24 long years have returned. And I am in H E A V E N! Lots more to tell but that's all for now.
Thanks for reading! |

Thanks for the welcome, MrsRooster!
Course, I had to visit your blog. Love the background, so chic!
And yikes, do they really do fractions in kindergarten? Or is she just advanced in that area? Gosh, seems they're 'teaching' kids too early in certain areas.
Anyhoot, hope you're happy down there in Texas!

Welcome Karen,
I just joined up about the same time as you. I'm having fun and have already met three other members from my area. It is so nice to know we will have "Something" in common to talk about before actually meeting in person.
so are the kitties inside yet? Our snow has been flying (east side of WA) a bit more than usual for us!! Snowiest November on record (I believe) for our area! And here comes December!!
Welcome and have fun Marianne |
