Hello, I'm an aspiring farm girl, who just graduated from library school this May. I write a blog about my crafts & thoughts about life, etc. You know, the usual bloggy stuff.

My main pursuits are knitting, crochet, and sewing. But I also work in a book repair lab, so have recently begun experimenting with binding, etc. Sometimes, I get very ambitious and spin my own yarn, but it takes so much effort! And then knits up in the blink of an eye.

Here's a post on the goats of my dreams, which might be particularly appropriate as an introduction to this forum: http://applescrumpy.blogspot.com/2010/10/goats-explained.html

I hope to make lots of farmgirl friends and share some project ideas! Recipes might be particularly welcome, because my cooking tends towards the rudimentary...

Looking forward to getting to know ya'll!

Welcome from Georgia, Rose. I love to crochet too. I had learned to knit then forget way too fast. I am going to learn again. And I would love to have fiber animals. Just not a llama. I do not like them. They are scary. I have a Nubian and a Lamancha that I milk every day. I love my girls. I hope you enjoy it here.

Thanks for the warm welcome! Wow, that's so cool you've got fresh milk every day! I've never interacted with a llama, but I can imagine that if they're pushy like camels, I would not like them one bit either. :)

And thanks for the kind words, Ruth. I suspect that this will indeed be a very fun adventure.

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Welcome"YellowRoseOfTexas." I enjoyed your blog. I love "Goaties."Don't have any but we had them when I was a gal at home. I had a finicky tummy, so goat milk helped and Yes, we had nubians.I loves to feel those warm, velvety ears between my fingers.Goats and bunnies are my favorite "Comfort" animals when it comes to petting and day-dreaming. I go to Co.Fairs just to see them! lol I've had numerous house-bunnies for companion animals. What a joy! Like little dogs, happy to see you...only (quiet).lol

Wow, thanks again for the welcomes, everyone!

Hay dare, right back 'atcha, Fiddlehead Farm. My brother used to live up in Milwaukee, so I've got a great affinity for your state. Went to visit him and saw the domes (botanical gardens) while I was up there; it was a blast because there was snow on the ground but Magnolia trees (of the sort that grow on every other block around here) blooming inside. So weird!

And Judy, glad you enjoyed the blog. :) Lucky you to have a background with goats! I grew up a total city girl, although I did have a pet bunny though, and you are so right: super sweet and quite, too. Maybe I will get another someday.

Welcome from a Florida farmgirl. My husband worked in screen printing and bindery for 15 years. He does our book binding when I have a project for that. Pretty neat.
