Hello from Medinah, IL - I'm so new to the hen house that Brian (the office farm boy) hasn't even posted my name yet.

Hello from North Aurora IL. I have been gardening for over 30 years and have gotten the bug to make it bigger and add to my farmgirl repertoire. I want chickens...my DH thinks I'm nuts and this is my mid-life crisis but it is not. I am searching for a healthier lifestyle and what is more healthy than farm fresh eggs to go with the veggies I am already growing.
I have three kids DD22, #1DS15, #2DS13 and of course DH. I have two gardens a 25 x 40 at work and 23 x 26 at home. I have almost planted everything we usually buy. I sew, crochet, quilt, and garden. My younges has aspergers so I have been constantly reading about the newest of medical stuff about it. My middle son wants his drivers license now and my daughter has no idea what she wants for the future.
I can deal with all of this but always need friends and a good outlet for "talking about new and farmey things. |

Sending sunshine to you all. I am new to the sisterhood. I am grateful to have so many new opportunitie's around me.... My husband had a stroke a few years back... He now lives in assitted living. I have put our house, on the 14th green, up for sale. I have bought 6 acre's... I sold the thunderbird, & bought a truck. I have always been a women that loved the woods... spending many years riding my horse's. I am going back to the only thing that brings peace to my heart. I am on a new journey, & loving every moment. It has been one year since I built my barn. I now have, 2 horse's, 2 donkey's, 2 goat's, 14 chickens... & 3 dogs... life is good. With God for me, then who could be against me.... peace, love & harmony.

Hello. I'm a stay at home, homeschooling momma of two gorgeous children (wee bit biased). I'm a Farmer's wife living in the middle of nowhere. I'm 45 min to an hour from everything. I have one horse left after my sweet Nevada past this last fall. He's a 20 year old Peruvian Paso. I adore my Nubian goats, have laying hens and just added some Guinea fowl to the flock. Hoping to add some Ancona ducks soon too. Just recently got into Satin rabbits and I'm about to start my worm colony. I pretty much belong on Noah's ark as I'd like to add mulefoot hogs, alpacas and sheep to my list too. Who knows what else I'll discover.
I also enjoy gardening and preserving our bounty and just living a simple old fashioned lifestyle. Looking forward to meeting you all. |
