Welcome Kristy from one Kansas girl to another. I'm located in southcentral Kansas about 60 miles south of Wichita. There are several of us Kansas girls here on the MJF forum, some up closer to you. I'm sorry that you're on life's journey alone now, but a nicer bunch of farmgirl's you'll never find. And the fun of joining in is beyond belief, so browse through the topics and you'll find something that will peak your interest. Welcome aboard!

Hi Kristi,
Welcome from Minnesota. You've found a wonderful, informative, supportive place wih MJF. Having lost your DH is a tremendous life changer. Your positive attitude of working on dreams and doing what you love to do will help you through the changes in your life. There's a thread here in the Across the Fence section called Stories of us Widowwomen, I believe, that could be a powerful support group when you need the boost. But for now let us know a bit more about yourself so we can find what you have in common with your new sisters.

Wow !! Thank you all ! I am all smiles here. Welcome wagon is right I already love it here. I so look forward to learning my way around and to get to know you all.

Someone said they wanted to know a bit more about me. So...here's a start. I am 53 and living on a small farm of 10 acres. I live in an old 2 story house that has been renovated and recently insolated and new energy efficient windows replacing the old bubbles glass with ugly storm windows . I love gardening,doing Zentangles and other arts. I sew,crochet,do photography,love baking and cooking. I live with my 5 dogs and 7 barnkittys and 1 indoor kitty. I am disabled but try not to let it keep me down. Somethings are more challenging now.. but I always find a way to get it done. I have 2 grown children and 2 beautiful grandbabies. One of with is diasabled but MEMEs sweetie.

Well.. will stop there. Don't want to scare anyone away !
Hugs to you .. my sisters...

Wow !! Two other Kansas girls !! I wish I was close to any that have a chapter going. Would love to get involved.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I have found several forums for widows and have been really touched by our Sisters responses. Reading their posts and realizing I am not alone in my feelings of being a widow and facing my first holidays with our my dear husband !! Thank you Sisters... thank you Mary Jane for starting this amazing place for women to come together and share !! You Rock !! (My kids saying !! lol !!}

Hugs and blessings...

Welcome Kristy!
You will come to love the fact that the farmgirls are here for you at any time of the day. I am sure you have a few nights that are long, being recently widowed. My condolences to you. I know you will find your membership here to be very worthwhile!!

Best wishes to you and your family from an ex-Paola, Kansan! Looking forward to getting to know you.
