We tried bringing the male in this morning. He wasn't really comfortable with being inside, and kept indicating that he wanted back out. We let him out, then in......and again he wanted out in a panicked kind of way.
So, we decided he preferred to be outside. We called someone my DH works with who lives on a working farm with cows, etc. She is also an animal lover and was more than willing to take him in.
I'm sad but I know he's much better off there as he's got two barn cats to chum with, a heated barn, far from a busy road, and lots of mice to catch and farm to explore. They went to great lengths to acclimate him to the barn, so I feel confident that he's in a good new home. |
