So this week has been an amazing of and awing week. It started out sort of rough, but one of my girlfriends came over to visit Monday and watch movies. She was full of giggles and quite contagious.I think it's been probably a year or better since I've had a girlfriend over to just do nothing with. Then, on Tuesday, the children behaved so wonderfully that I was able to seriously clean my kitchen and living room for hours on end. (This usually never happens so I was thrilled) Next, on Wednesday, the neighbor has her new carpet installed and sets the remnant (haha) out by the road for the garbage men...so...my living room needed a rug and I'm thinking upcycling. I went over and asked her is she minded if I took it. She said go right ahead. So, I took it home and when I got it all unfolded to clean it up and vacuum it out;it was NOT a mere rug. It fit my living room floor almost completely. I now have beautiful brand new plush blue carpet in my living room. YAY! Then, on Thursday, I was having a laid back sort of day. You know the kind where nothing bothers you too much, and I got the children in bed without a fuss. Any of you who have known me a while know that this is no easy task for me by any means. Then to ice the cake on that night, my Mom (levisgrammy) calls and says I am an AUNT!!!!! That's not all. Hubby calls shortly after my Mom and say he'll be home earlier than usual from work. Today..oh yes! Today, is not without it's amazing blessings!! (This is the slightly embarassing part to admit, but we all have lean times so..anyways) We were out grocery shopping and had to stick to a budget this week. Well,I got what I needed and figured I was pretty close to budget. Apparently, math in my head is lousy. I ended up being quite a bit over. I had put the things up in order of importance(yes, I'm weird like that)It wasn't a huge deal, but it was one of those times when the little extras would have been a huge help but you know how it goes. Anyway, I told the cashier to stop my order and I wouldn't be able to get the rest of the things. The lady behind me tells the cashier to finish ringing up ALL of my items and hands me the money for the rest of my groceries. Okay, so I was bawling about this point. Then, I get home and start in on laundry. (I don't have a dryer so I hang them out in the summer and clothes bars in the winter.) The neighbor lady calls up and says my dryers free if you'd like to use it to get some things done. Wow! Just wow! At this whole week! I am soooo very blessed! Just thought Id share ;) hugs Jessie

Sounds like you had an amazing week! So glad to hear it! (((hugs)))
My favorite Christmas Blessing to share this year is from my youngest son. My car had broken down in the snow, so we needed to take him to class and were driving in a small car that my daughter usually drives. My son has anxiety problems and while we were driving, a Christmas song came on the radio called Winter Wonderland. With the clopping of hooves and jingle bells in the tune, I looked back at my son & said, we're going to take our sleigh to your class today and I kind of zoomed the car a bit & started driving & the song was just *perfect* and sounded like we were driving in a real sleigh with the neighing & clopping that's in the song. My son's face broke out into the biggest smile and his eyes lit up --it was magical. So he says, "Mama, you're the bag of toys and I'm Santa." I said, "How can you be Santa driving the sleigh from the back seat? I'm Santa's Wife." "Nooo, you're Santa's Mama," he says. And I giggle because I know I'm turning a bit greyer these days (hee hee). Anyway, while we drive, I felt like the two of us were on a real sleigh ride. As I kept peeking over my shoulder at him, his eyes spoke of such contentment and deep happiness. He gave me a gift of seeing Christmas through a child's eyes.

I do not know you Jessie and am new to Across the Fence, but your week put a lot of things in perspective for me and I am crying too as I write this. Thank you for sharing your week and all you Blessings. I am a firm believer in Angels and it is nice to know they are out there working wherever they are needed. God Bless you and your family.

Jessie, you just made me tear up just a little! I recently had knee surgery, and thinking about all of the homework I have to make up and how difficult going back to school is going to be on Tuesday on top of holiday things has been stressing me out, but your week just gave me holiday hope! That's so great for you! I definitely believe in the Christmas spirit, but your story just reaffirmed that belief:) God's and Holiday's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae
