What a wonderful community this is, I feel very blessed to have been able to find it. I have been married coming up on our 25 wedding anniversary the 7th of June 2011, with two fantastic children, both are in college, daughter 23 and our son who just turned 20. I guess we would be considered a young pair of empty-nesters, me at 42, and hubby at 44. But then I don't think the house is ever truly empty. My husband and I finally found our dream home on just over 5 acres. The house is placed in a passive solar position, with the back of the house receiving all the best sunlight, and a fantastic view of Mount Rainier off to the left of the property. We have done a lot of talking of moving to a greener way of life, and I think we are finally moving that way. We had 18 solar panels mounted on our roof last April. Now if I could only figure out how to make my garden grow.... with all my love, and appreciation, I am so glad to find you all here, and I look forward to the opportunity of getting to know you all better.
May the paths that your feet tread be always blessed. |

Sherri,
Wow what a place you have. I would be interested in how much solar accumulation you get. We live in Bonney Lake.
Glad you found MJ. I have learned so much from these awesome and smart farmgirls.

http://solarwa.digitalaid.net/tour/2010/tacoma/willemin-tridium-integration
We had our house on the Solar Tour 2010. The link above has some photos and a bit on what we have done with the solar system. We are planning on adding more solar at some point, along with a system to utilize the wind we get, and we get a lot, believe it or not. A geothermal system is also being discussed...along with chickens and a goat or two...
My husband runs a HVAC Controls business, so this naturally falls in line with what we do.... I very much miss my time at home, but I am working hard to find a balance between helping my husband run a business and finding fulfillment for my own well being. Life is a huge classroom for me at the moment, and I am enjoying the things I am learning and loving where I am in life right now, and I look forward to adding more textures of learning and growth into my life.
May the paths that your feet tread be always blessed. |

Lifes not about the breaths you take, but the moments that take your breath away.
Just a small town country girl, farmgirl, loggergirl, trying to live her dreams. :)
P.s. I've been playing around with the spelling of my name ( weird I know) and I've decided that I will stick with Hannah for good. Sorry I got you all confused. Hugs!! |

I miss WA. ;) We lived in Fircrest. I'm originally from WI (hay dare to you too, eh!), now in KS. A neighbor introduced me to MJF, and I'm very excited. Absolutely new, can't wait to be more involved. ;)

Welcome Karin, too!
We lived in Kansas for a while and when we moved here to "near" Spokane I got so confused when everyone talked about Leavenworth. I thought they meant Fort Leavenworth, not Leavenwortth, WA.
You will love MJF and all the girls will want to welcome you -- maybe you could start a "new topic" in Welcome Wagon and introduce yourself again!
Glad to have you here with us Marianne |

hahaha! Marianne...when we lived on Base in Ft. Riley,(back in the '60's) ,,,"Ft Leavenworth" was NOT a household word....lol! For those of you who don't know, Leavenworth was/is a Military Stockade/prison....

Hi Sherri & Karin (Chaotic Mom)!
I hope you are dipping your toes into more of all the different posts and getting acquainted with others. It takes a bit to get going but you will have a grand time. I too am from WA state, just north of that "little" Spokane....the 2nd largest city in the state. We have a little over 2 acres here in our small town of Deer Park. We have a good deal of snow now, but I love it here. can't wait til Spring. I hope you step out to post to other areas, like some crafts or recipes etc, There is a lot to learn and share with these ladies. I know it has made my life a little more full. Blessings on your day!
