Hi, just recently joined MJF (this was my requested christmas present from my mom this year). I dont get a chance to be on here often right now as we cancelled our internet temporarily untill we get our finances straightened out. I'm an RN originally from southern ohio. i do home healthcare and love it, (except for the fact you never know if you'll get enough hrs or not). But i mostly take care of very ill (frequently terminally so) children.
My mom got me hooked on MJF by sending me her issues when she was finished with them (but she really wants to keep hers) and it fit so perfectly with the life i've been trying to lead that i just had to get a sub for myself and become a sister as well.
I have a garden (hooked on square foot gardening as well), i have self taught myself to crochet, knit, tat (thanks to MJ), and spin. i'm working on quilting right now, and my grandma taught me to sew when i was younger. i love crafts of all sorts (obviously, lol) and cant decide which is my favorite. I have completed the requirements for a cpl of merit badges but havent had a chance to get them requested. hopefully soon. I have made aprons for several ppl in my family for christmas, made a pair of felted slippers for a friend (including spinning and dying all the yarn for them), and a pair for each of my dtrs from yarn i found at our local thrift store. oh and i made a pin cushion?sewing kit also.
And to top it all off, i have some very dear friends i was telling about MJF and how i really wanted to visit the farm in Moscow, Idaho and one of them said "Moscow- thats where my brother lives". (i know his name is Jim, but i forget what his last name is) so it really is such a small small world (so if any of you who live there in moscow knows a jim with a sister named teresa in the detroit lakes area of MN thats probably him).
One last thing before i close this really long post, are there any other sisters or chapters up here in the frozen north of MN. I'm in Detroit Lakes.

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Crystal! We are so glad you joined us. I am in a group called the River Valley Farmgirls. They are mostly in the Minneapolis area. Quite a hike for me. Where is Frazee, MN? Is it close to the twin cities?

Happy to be a "Raggedy Ann" in a Barbie World!

I get up every morning determined to both change the world and have one hell of a good time. Sometimes this makes planning my day difficult.

Hello and welcome Crystal. I am a RN and I love square foot gardens. I love your state, it's very pretty there. You will fit in very nicely here, Carol

Frazee is near Detroit Lakes, my address is technically Frazee, but we never go there, kids go to school in DL, we shop in DL and everthing else there also. We live right on the line seperating DL from Frazee. also it's about 4hrs from Minneapolis. I'm 45 min from Fargo, ND. So we usually go there if we need to do any "City Shopping" or fun. thanks for the welcome.

Crystal, welcome aboard from someone who lived in the burbs (New Hope, Crystal, Prior Lake and Savage) of Minneapolis. My daughter lives in Moorhead which isn't all that far away from you (I go up and see her/kids several times a year). DH and I were at a campground in DL last summer and loved the area. Really nice homes and of course the lake. WOW! So I know the area you live. Small world! Would be great fun to meet up next time I'm up there to say "hi".

Hey Crystal: Welcome from Minneapolis. I know there must be farmgirls from your area but I have never heard of a henhouse that direction. I live in the very northeast corner of Minneapolis not far from 94 and 35W. If you are coming this way, let me know. I'd love to see you.

Hi Crystal!

I'm pretty far away from you (Garland, Texas), but I wanted to say hello and welcome. I'm very new as well. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Hugs,
Kara

Welcome Crystal! I live in Alabama, but more than half of my family lives in Minnesota. My dad was born and raised in Springfield, and I've spend many summers there with my grandparents on their farm. I haven't gotten up there in a long time and I miss it. :) I'm also a nurse. I'm sure you're going to love being a Farmgirl!
