Oh I love having a snow day as an adult!! I make those days mine. They come few and far here in GA. I made a pot of chili and started in on my quilt tops. I don't know about you but I think that I need to go to "Toppers Anonymous" If such a thing is out there. I love making quilt tops. Do not enjoy quilting large quilts on my machine. Have not yet learned how to hand quilt. I would love a longarm but is not in the top ten of things that our money needs to go towards. Oh - I guess I must also confess that I am to cheap to let someone else quilt them for me. I mean really if a had to spend $$ I would pick new fabric. So many "pretties" are out there. So one of my goals this year is to finish the tops that I have. I am trying to only purchasing thread, and batting this year. I am going to make myself piece fabrics together for backs. So is anyone else out there like me? It's okay if I'm alone I will persevere. I will try to keep you posted on my progress. Happy snow day everyone, Barbara

I plan to get to some sewing as soon as I get the last of the Christmas deco packed away.... My bad! I brought everything downstairs, and parked it right in the middle of the sewing room floor,,,I figure if I put just a few things away each day I might have it all packed up just in time to pull it out again for next Christmas! lol! But, never fear, I could just keep stepping over it,,,drag my Singer 301 upstairs and sew at the kitchen table where the light is much better... hmmmmm, thinking, thinking!

Katmom so...are you thinking about moving your sewing room to the kitchen? Just kidding. I do know how important good lighting can be when you are sewing. I had my sewing room in a far off bedroom and felt disconnected to my family. So maybe you have a good idea. Oh ...you could find an old hoosier cabinet to keep your sewing supplies. And just sew and sew and sew and cook and sew.......Barbara
