Hi Ladies!

I was all set to order a few pounds of purple potatoes and Johnny's Select is out for the season.

Are there any other purple varieties out there that don't fade when cooked? The ones I was after are called Adirondack Blue.

Any other places to order too?

I'm looking to purchase about 5 pounds. Johnny's price was about 20.00

Help???

You should be able to get them through Seed Savers Exchange. Just go to their web site and you will find many varieties.

Look at the Irish Eyes seed catalog...they have a blue variety (can't remember the exact name) that keeps it's color. Of course, not everybody is excited about blue mashed potatoes!I am, but my family is NOT impressed! LOL

I totally forgot about seed savers!

Jumped online and orderd 5 pounds no problem. They won't be shipped 'till end of February, but that's ok.

Thanks ladies!

Can't wait to serve those and the purple carrots too! I ordered a BUNCH of seeds for spring!

It's been super warm these past 2 days and I forget we still have LOTS more winter to go yet.

I order my potatoes from Wood Prairie Farm www.woodprairie.com. They're a certified organic family farm.
They have blue seed potatoes -all blue and cairbe. Haven't tried these varieties but the seed potatoes I've recieved from them always have produced great results.
