My "little girl" graduated 8th grade today. It was a wonderful ceremony. They had caps, growns the whole nine yards. It was outside & VERY hot but very nice. I cried, of course, then we went out to dinner w/ my sister & brother-in-law. What a milestone, shes not so little anymore but in my heart she still is. Great night!!

Congratulations to you and your daughter!! It IS a milestone..more for us than them I think at this point! I remember when my oldest son had his 8th grade graduation party at the high school gym and for the first time I was waiting outside to pick him up after a dance at the high school..the same one I went to school at!! and what a wierd grownup feeling..I was my mom!!!!!!! I sat there and bawled. Stopped just in time for him and his buddies to not see me wipe my eyes.

Oh Jenny it's so true. I was trying to not have her see me cry but w/ little luck. And it is more of a milestone for parents I think because you "suddenly" realize they not babes anymore, they feel they need us less. it is very hard for me to realize this but I am trying very hard.
