Hi ya'll
I have been a subscriber to the MJF magazine for almost a year and finally had time to sit down and get signed up to the Farmgirl Connection. I have read some of the blogs but now I can participate. We live in north/west Texas, north of Abilene and are finally coming out of subfreezing temps and the ice and snow are melting. I am a teacher and had too many snow days this week!!! I like to do lots of crafty type stuff, or at least plan to do lots of crafty type stuff, especially sewing and yarn arts. I am experimenting with the dress a day for $1 idea of recycling used clothing and I am also trying my hand at making a shopping bag out of used baler twine. I guess you would say I have some "green" tendencies, but I just hate waste. Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Sylvia
Welcome, you will enjoy your time spent hanging out here at MJF. I live in Christoval, about 19 miles south of San Angelo. We have had freezing temps, ice and snow until today as well. Missed lots of work, but was able to work from home, so that makes it nice. I work as a Community Relations mgr for Mosaic, we serve and support people w/intellectual disabilities. I like crafts too, I participate in the Mail Art Swaps on here and the Secret Sister Swaps. They are lots of fun and you meet great ladies. Hope you have a great weekend and stay warm.
Hugs
Terri

Hi from Portales, New Mexico. We're coming out of our deep freeze too. A regular heat wave today! (Above freezing.) More snow tomorrow.
I came to the great rodeo and art western art show in Stamford a few years ago. Quite the event!!!

I'm having such a wonderful time with the Farmgirl Connection. Glad to see you've joined too.
Sandy

Welcome, Sylvia. I am new to the web site also. So far it is so exciting to visit with all these wonderful ladies. I haven't started any projects. I am participating in mail art and pen pal. I have already received mail from both. I live 10 miles south of Decatur,Tx. You do live in the colder part of Texas. I have not been out of the house or off the back porch for 6 days. I go on the back porch to throw bird seed on the back porch. I started my hibernation after I helped DH feed the cattle Mon morning. Our son has not been able to get to work so he has been helping pour out those cotton seed cake rations. The temp has finally gone up over the freezing mark today. We still have lots of icy spots. We could get out of our garage but probably can't get back in because of the ice. The weather man says more snow tonight and next week. We are stocked with food and ready. When is spring?

And the night shall be filled with music
And the cares that infest the day
Shall fold their tents like the Arabs
And as silently steal away. Longfellow
