Yeah, I know it's 2 weeks away but I am at a loss as to what I should get my mom. I was thinking of buying her some really pretty flowers ( she loves flowers!), a box of chocolates, and taking her out to starbucks to have coffee. Does that sound lame? I really want it to be special because my mom is my best friend and I love her so much! Let me know what you think! Hugs, Hannah

Hannah- I think that sounds wonderful. The best thing you can do is to simply spend quality time with her. Its the best gift you can give to her (and yourself!) Enjoy the day!

Hannah, that's a lovely gift. And time. Time is it for sure! I treasure the precious time that I get to spend with my grown children. Everybody is gone and so it is just absolutely the best when we can get together.

I bought my mom a dragonfly wind chime. She loves wind chimes and loves dragonflies from http://www.atwestend.com/ . And for my Soon to be mother-in-law, I found a gorgeous turquoise cross necklace in the drysdales catalog, they are www.drysdales.com (I bought me a turquoise chain too).

How about homemade chocolates, like truffles? There not hard at all...just balls of yummy chocolate goodness! That shows you took extra time just for her, too. I don't know about your mama, but I love living plants (like potted flowers...), so that I can be reminded of the loved one who gave it to me for a long time, not just a few days. (and they can be less expensive!) We like picnics & tea parties around our house; one year my honey & daughters made a full fledged tea at home for my mama & I~ such a blessing! Hope ya'll have a lovely day together.

Does she garden? I always bought my mom a rose plant for the garden. My mom died before Christmas but she always loved the roses. Good luck and Happy Mother's Day. Bonnie

Hannah, your idea is not lame. My Mom always tells me it's the little things that she enjoys. I also find that Moms love the homemade stuff, so if your card is homemade, I think you'll be set. Your idea is great, and just go with your gut. God's and Farmgirl's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae
