I didn't realise till about 11AM that my cat Lightning has a swollen lower jaw-going to vet @ 2:40 PST. Any good thoughts prayers that this doesn't end up being another tooth extraction would be appreciated! (Cat has been sleeping all day-not unusual in this heat-so I'm shocked)

A bug bite. That's what Lightning has. Vet guessing a spider. She did a very close inspection of her teeth, probed the jawbone, probed the swelling. Very relieved it was just a $57 visit and not worse. The swelling has went down since this morning but not all the way-still puffy. Thank you for the thoughts & prayers!

Oh no! Poor Lightning =( I'm glad it wasn't something worse Sherrie. I'll think good healing thoughts for your kitty. Spiders bites can sometimes form abscesses in cats, one of mine had a bad one several years ago, so keep an eye on it!

I'm glad Lightning is okay. Poor baby, I hate gettin bit, especially when I don't know what was crawlin around on me! Even if it is only a bite, a little extra TLC never hurts.
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

So glad it wasn't a tooth after all. I just hate spiders! They give me the creeps! I don't currently have a cat but have had them in the past and love them!
