Thanks I will definitely keep your heirlooms in mind. Trying to stem the cash flow at the moment and trade for what I can. How many more do you think you will have towards fall? They would be great for next years garden. =)

Hey Angie - I have an elderberry bush/tree in my backyard. I would totally be willing to send some cuttings/seeds etc, but I'm not sure the best time of year or best way to do that - do you know? I can do a little research....

I have read several things. One is that they are better grown from seeds. But that process seemed really complicated!! The other is to take hard wood cuttings about 12" long right before the buds bloom in the spring. So I guess I have probably missed that option??

| Did you guys ever get the Elderberry bush figured out? I think you could probably grapht it....This would take a long time but you would have a baby plant, and could send the whole thing taped-up, straight from the plant still so that it would have water/nutrients... You would probably have to overnight it though. |

Not sure we ever did figure out the Elderberry. But that idea would likely work pretty good! Thanks for the suggestion.

Are you still looking? I have some peppers, some carrots, and some cucumbers that I won't have room to plant. Sad, sad world.
