| I'm hoping to move back to Michigan...otherwise I'd be whining for sure for my husband to move it for us. We live in Mineral Wells...nothing here :( Currently renting an apartment. That house would be a dream. I think the idea of a part time resale shop or gift shop would be wonderful. Have fun with it...I'm envious. |

Wow, I love it too! In fact I would buy that scene door if you want to sell it? ;-) I live in Oklahoma and have been looking at horse property. It is so expensive. The costs of moving would be high cause of the diesel fuel on the trucks. I have a friend who moves houses too! Wouldn't hurt!;-)

LOL! Thanks, Sissy. It is a beautiful house. Too bad Mary Jane doesn't want it for an additional B&B housing unit at her place. LOL!

Can you list it in Yankee magazine or Craig's List?????? I hate for you to get rid of it...but a gal has to do what they have to do.
IF its at all a help in keeping it I can come on down the month of September and do whatever you want me to do....to help fix it. True I lack experience BUT I certainly would be willing to do whatever in order for you to keep it. Let me know.

Thanks, Beverly. That's a super offer. Maybe I should just host a "house raising" party for farmgirls. LOL! If I decide to keep it that would be a great fun time. LOL!

I really like that idea-----I know that's how our church got built-----a lot of volunteers and some professionals.''
Hope alot of farm gals get on the band wagon and help out----count me in as Numero Uno if you decide to . Come on gal friends...lets help out----if Linda decides to. Be there or be square.

Dear Linda,
While I hope you find a new home for this lovely home here--if you don't--have you considered contacting This Old House magazine? They have a section called, savethisoldhouse in every issue. This is exactly the kind of house they put in there--great features, needing lots of TLC. I'm sure you can find out more at their website:
THISOLDHOUSE.COM
In any case, I hope someone comes along for this beautiful house. It will make a wonderful home.
Best,
Karen

Linda - please keep us posted. I want to know what happens to this lovely home. Sending prayers and good energy your way...

omg!!! I love it!!! I'm north of Houston and have an extra acre of land I can put it on. I'm gonna call around to see how much it costs to move it here.
Blessings Catherine

Catherine -
Someone wanting to move it to Tyler, about 1.5 hours away, got a price of $30,000. Most of that is taking the roof off, cutting the house in half, moving it in 2 pieces, and putting it all back together. The mileage is a small part of that. After my painter lets me know if he wants it or not, and if you are still interested, please send me an offline message. I'd love it to have a good loving home. It has lots of character.

Ah, Linda. It would be perfect in my back pasture. I live in nw Louisiana, and if it's $30K to Tyler, it would be way out of my budget to move here. I hope you get someone who really loves it, like every farm girl on this sight does!!!!

You've set me to dreaming too...
Can you tell me where (about) the nearest piece of available land is in proximity to this house? Is there any chance you would be willing to sell the land that it sits on now? Is there some place online (like a realtor's website) that I could visit to see nearby land?
It's just so wonderful...
I can't stop thinking about this. Best, Karen

You could probably look for land on realtor.com or realty.com. I have a realtor friend you could contact. Since I just got my place a year ago, I do not wish to part with the 2 acres. Message me offline and I will give you her name. There is some property just down the road from me about 1/2 mile. There is quite a bit of property here - with and without houses already on it.

Girls interested - Maybe it would be easier to just buy a couple of acres near the house and move it there?;:-) That's what I would do if I didn't already live in an old house on 60 acres in Maine.
