I have a wonderful newly home brewed batch of Lemon Balm Tincture ready for sale. Each is bottled in an amber glass bottle with a glass dropper and is 2 oz. I sell them for $12 which includes shipping. Lemon Balm is excellent for your immune system and is also a wonderful mood lifter for the coming winter months. I have fibromyalgia and use it all the time. I love adding it to my pot of tea or just putting 3-4 drops on a sugar cube or a spoon of honey! In the middle of winter it is lovely to open up a bottle and inhale the wonderful scent of summer!

Kathy, is this something that can be used for people already taking antidepressants? How long will a 2oz bottle last (# uses per bottle and shelf life?). I'd like to forward your info to a couple of friends, just thought I'd get more detail first.
Thanks!

I have a bottle from last Sept that I am still using - it goes a long way and shelf life is similar to Bach Remedies, at least 2 yrs if kept in dark - they are bottled in Amber bottles. I take Wellbutrin and have been taking the two together for a long time. I use the Lemon Balm tincture as a supplement and it helps so much - I did not go through SAD - Seasonal Affective Disorder last year like I usually do.

Thanks, Kathy! I have a wonderful large lemon balm plant growing in my herb garden for years - how nice to know another good use for it.

Well, I have successfully bottled my first batch of this Lemon Balm tincture in the proper amber bottles, 1/2 oz. and 1 oz. sizes, and I have given samples to some friends. Ingredients consist of dried lemon balm leaves soaked in 80 proof vodka in a dark cabinet, shaken daily for 5 weeks. I even made little labels for the bottles!
If I keep doing this as more than a hobby, do I need a business license or anything in order to legally sell/ship it to other people? Or can I barter it with friends and fellow farmgirls?
and, most importantly -- Dear Kathy, where are you? Did you get swallowed up by the Enchanted Wood? Come back soon, We miss you!

Thank you all for being concerned about me - just having a tad of a personal crisis - my life is kinda crazy right now - nearly living between two houses and trying to keep sane - lol- Good news guys - I have had my article accepted for November publication in the print magazine for children - Learning Through History - it is an article about the Dogs of Defense used during World War II. Please keep me in your prayers and look for a comeback as the weeks go by - I am able to spend more time with the computer now. I have missed you all terribly Great with your lemon balm tincture - doesn't it just smell heavenly - I need to buy some honey so I can start taking it faithfully again for the coming gloomy days of fall. Blessed Be from the Enchanted Wood that is full of baby deer - both brown and white ones!

kathy, I think you may really want to look into selling tinctures because there is alcohol involved and I am pretty sure you need to be an herbalist, though I cannot be 100% sure. I know that for me to do it here in MN, I have to have an alcohol license, so I am of the habit of just giving mine to people, but if people want to pay shipping I think you can get away with that. But be safe and check into it.

Welcome back, Kathy! Congratulations on your article! Hope you get some great honey to go with the tincture, I have been taking it since September 1st and shared it with a couple of friends. I've started a couple of batches of blackberry cordial, too, using the leftover pulp from my blackberry jam. Where is Diana Barry when I need her?

That cordial sounds lovely and I would love to try some - I am going to begin my lemon balm again on a regular basis from my last batch that turned such a lovely dark color.
What a lovely plant lemon balm is - we are in the midst of our autumn monsoon season and have had some cold nights but the sweet melissa is still as green as can be.
You know I just thought I could probably brew up a batch of raspberry cordial next summer with all the scads of wild raspberries I have here.
Egads, I am already thinking of next summer and it isn't even winter
