Hi ladies,
I have been reading thru suggestions you ladies have given for one thing or another and you have such good ideas I thought you might have some for me. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with empty medicine bottles. I get several scripts filled every month and I have all these bottles leftover. I used to give them to a church and they used them for medicine they dispenced overseas, but they have no use for them anymore. I hate to just throw them away and they refuse to recycle them or use them over at the pharmacy. If anyone needs some or has an idea how to use them ,please let me know.
Thanx, Lainey Lou

Seeds, needles, tiny buttons, hooks/eyes, little nails, beads. Pretty much anything tiny.
I use mine for vitamins and herbs. I take a handful of things daily so I clean out the old bottles and fill them up at the beginning of the week so I don't have to do it each morning.
I put chia seeds in them for bag lunches to sprinkle on yogurt .
Also use one to cut the middle out of homemade donuts.
Do what you love, love what you do. |

I've found the lids (after washing) are great to use for craft glue, glitter, or paint when I'm working on a project.

I use them for beads and glue one of the designated beads on top so I know which is which! :)

Angie, I love your idea of using old med bottles to make up daily "batch" bottles. Like you, I take a bunch of Rx and vitamins. -- some of them too big for store-bought pill boxes. I'm going to start squirreling my empties :) |

I use them to hold change and keep a couple in my glove box as it always seems when I need a few quarters my change purse is empty. Also I find they hold sewing bobbins perfectly.

Ladies, thanks so much for all the great ideas, and just in case ... I have oodles and gobs of these and am to the point I have to start getting rid of them and it really bothers me to have to throw them away, so if any one wants some let me know!
Thanks again, Lainey Lou #3848

Clean them, remove the labels and put as many as you can in a zippered plastic bag and donate them to a thrift store. Someone will have a use for them.

My roommate has lots of these bottles and she lent me some a few weeks ago as travel sized shampoo and conditioner containers. They are hard to close again with wet hands but the upside to that is that they are very sealed and don't leak in the suitcase unlike many bottles made for the purpose.

This is not a hint for medicine bottles but I realized yesterday that my husband's snuff comes in plastic now instead of cardboard and so I am going to start collecting them for seed saving and if I can get them clean enough for putting homemade salves in.

I love the plastic snuff cans for my homemade salves. They clean easy. I also use them for small sewing kits and the lids don't come off too easily.
