I'm hoping someone else might find this idea fun! Would anyone out there like to swap some fertile hatching eggs? I've got some beautiful, tall, Indian Runner Ducks that are gracing us with a ton of eggs. (Holderread stock) Some are in the incubator now and I'm getting more everyday. Right now it looks like they are 100% fertile! These birds are soooo comical... they run almost everywhere they go, completely upright! They don't fly, stay together in a group and are the easiest ducks ever to put up at night. They look like wine bottles with stubby little legs! I'd love to trade some for a few eggs from your peafowl, sebastopols, guineas or something else unusual. I also like Black Copper Marans & large Cochin but really would love to hear about anything you have that's a bit different! ![]()

That *is* a fun idea! Sorry I don't have anything neat to offer this year... I'm just about to start practicing with the incubator on some mixed layer ducks (campbells, harlequins, a little swedish etc.) and next year's breeder geese are still babies themselves! LOL.

I wish I had a nice incubator Danielle. They sound like such cute little ducks. I just love to have a variety of cute little fowls to look at. Yours sound like very high quality. I also am wanting to get some sebastopol eggs when I get an incubator or maybe a setting hen. I have one full grown male that I bought at a chicken swap and he is soooo cool. If I manage to find a female and get some eggs from them I will let you know.

In fact I will see if the lady that sold me the sebastopol has some sebastopol eggs that she would share and maybe I can send you a couple. They have chicken swaps in Farmington NM once a month and that is where I got my goose and some other cool birds. However like everywhere else I am 2 hours from there so I don't always make it up there.

I have BCM roos in with all my ladies, The easter eggers(bluish green) should hatch olive eggers(dark green), and my BCM girls would have pure BCM chicks :) I'm taking a trip at the end of the month, though- so I can't be starting the bators up quite yet :(

Well Ladies, for all of you that are interested in some eggs keep my name handy! My birds lay constantly until winter sets in hard, so I can accommodate you almost any time! Laura, that would be AWESOME if you're able to find some for me! Thank you soooo much!
Natalie, just let me know if & when you're ready!

| Hello I'm totally new to this but when I seen the egg swap I said that is me. I have runners but yours are so different colored. For a swap I have copper marans, blue jersey giants, blue red lace wyandottes, buff chanteclers(show birds), easter eggers, coronation sussex and lavender orpingtons. These are in separate pens and one coop of other breeds. Also have the sebastopol geese one pair and at this time hen is setting on eggs and 2 under a hen and 2 in the incubator. |
