Hello fellow farm girls! This is my first day on Farmgirl! I am currently living in the city in Oklahoma but am moving on March 31st to the country in Kansas! I cannot wait....we have soooooo much to learn. I am looking forward to soaking up all of the knowledge that you all have! We are buying 30 acres. It only has a house on it. We are going to have to build a barn and shop, dig a garden, put up fencing..pretty much everything but build a house.
Looking forward to getting to know you all! |

Welcome Barby,
You are in a great place to get lots of ideas from women who have done it all. (Not me, but lots of the other gals!) We lived in KS about 10 years ago near a small town (Paola) about an hour south of KC. The weather was scary to me because I am a CA native and not used to wind and tornados! I hope you love it in your new home both in KS and here on MJF forum. Marianne |

Welcome, Barby from OKC; I live in Chandler, OK. Too bad you're leaving; I have only found one MJFG around here... Lots of know how and everyone is so happy to share, too. So buckle your belt, pull on your boots, and don't forget your hat, and enjoy the ride...;D
Hugs

Thank you so much for the warm greetings! Kathryn-I am only moving over the border about 5 miles! My husband will still be working in Oklahoma and I will still be volunteering and watching grandbabies in Oklahoma. We are currently in Bartlesville. Also, we will still be rooting for Oklahoma football!
I am so excited about moving to the country!!!! It's a little scary and overwhelming, but I cannot wait for all the new adventures to start!
Green acres is the place for me!!! |
