Hi! Just wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I'm Trish, from Topeka KS, 42, married mother of 2 boys and a ton of critters .

I found this place totally by accident when a friend gave me a discarded magazine. I fell in love immediately. I love that it feels so old-fashioned and yet modern - if that makes any sense to anyone

I hardly know where to begin here - it's like a candy store! I can be a little shy, but I love projects and sharing, so I'm sure I'll find a place to jump in soon.

WElcome Trisha,

Hope you are staying safe from all the tornados! We lived in Paola =- South of KC for a few years and I just didn't get used to the weather. Born and raised in CA and was more used to earthquakes!lol

Have fun meeting everyone. Glad you joined us!

Hello Trisha. I does feel like you've come home to a simpler time; a time where you knew where your food and clothing came from and where each and everyday is cherished... Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy it here; I think you will; I know you will. :D

Sister Hugs,
Kathryn

Hi Trish,
Welcome to MJF. I'm new too and am enjoying exploring the many different aspects to the membership. I visited Salina, KS last year and it was my first time to Kansas. Click on "First Time I Ever Saw a Hedge Apple" topic to read my topic and you will laugh at me. I live in Henderson, NV. I loved Salina because everyone there made me feel like I had known them my whole life. I met so many people and was even invited to church. The downtown had a great antique store filled with old vintage books, dishes, jewelry, bric a brac. An amazing Italian restaurant is there too. Salina, Topeka, and some other towns around seem to be continually creeping into cutting edge news so I think there are some movers and shakers living in Kansas. On the outskirts of town we stopped at a stop sign next to a huge grain silo. And I started coughing and coughing. The air was thick and I could smell "wheat"? Since you live in Kansas, are you familiar with this? Is is grain dust or what? I had never experienced it before. Of course, I am allergic to most grains so I was wondering what the smell and thick air was. Have fun. Your sister who has lived in the desert far too long.
