I have learned many things on this trip. I have learned that there is much I don't know about this country. I have learned that there are nice people everywhere if you are nice. I have learned that there are MANY types of mountains. I've learned that except for maybe Florida, I think every state must have mountains of some kind and that mountains in NM are very diff from mountains of TN, or CA, or PA, etc. THey have been so interesting for me. I've learned that I really AM a beach girl. Driving thru Sacramento last night was difficult. It was dark, raining and 5 lanes of traffic going by so fast with cars that go too fast and follow too close. I have decided that I am officially an "old fuss budget" because as much as I love Diane, I will never do this again. I live in a tiny little town that you can walk or ride your bike almost everywhere and I just don't do traffic anymore. I prayed our way to Dianes, and we got there safely. I was so good to see Diane. It feels like we were never apart. Isn't that the way with good friends? You don't see them for awhile but when you see them you just pick up where you left off. We are so different but understand each other well. It is sunny and warm here today and felt like Florida..so nice after being so cold in AZ. Today my recruiter called to tell me that computer plan the hospital planned to use won't work for them and so they have cancelled all the contracts! I couldn't believe it! Rod and I have come totally across the counrty for a job no longer available to me. I am stunned!! This has never happened to me before. Here's the thing after a minor panic, I decided that everything happens for a reason and that God is in charge of this. I do believe I am supposed on the west coast just now, but I don't know why. I am not panicing. THis isn't how I planned to use the money left to me by my father but we have the money to cover it and maybe we were just meant to see the country for awhile. I don't know anything at this point. Diane and Rod are very supportive. I plan to pray about it and spend fun time with Diane and wait. THe verse"Be still and know that I am God" goes through my head and I admit that I am not good with the "Be still" piece. So here we are. I have no clue what happens next, but I'll keep you posted. Please keep Rod and I in prayer that we will learn with clarity what Gods will is for us from here. THanks, Joey

Oh Joey, I have to tell you...so many people with that news would not be as calm as you are. I admire you! That is such an awesome way of looking at things. Yes your situation has changed, but it doesnt necessarily mean its "bad"- its just different. If you continue to keep the positive attitude and open mind that you have right now- you will surely go far and things WILL work out for you! This is LIFE. Yet another lesson that teaches us WE are not in control. God does have a plan for you and I am sure it is a good one. Enjoy time with Diane, and all of the wonderful different parts of the country that you are experiencing. Keep us posted and enjoy the ride! Safe travels. Hugs,

I really admire the way you are handling this situation! You are right-you must be where you are for a reason, so hang in there! Praying that you will find the answers you need to move on from this and create a new and better life in your new home... Hugs to you! Christine Farm Girl #4025 |

Oh no.....You are right Joey-There must have been a reason for the trip across the country. Look what both of you have "gleaned" from it? You were able to spend some good quality time with your husband and you saw our beautiful, beautiful country. Sit tight dear friend and "be still!" I too have trouble with that part!
Thinking of you....
P.S. Thank you so much for sharing your journey-
